True, hence why It's PS4/PC for me exclusively next gen.

What about the exclusives on the other platforms? And what does the steam sale have to do with overlooking those?

Perhaps the other platform's exclusives don't do it for him.

You can get most Microsoft games on PC so the only console manufactures that matter for exclusives would be Sony and Nintendo.  It would be nice if Sony would put GT on the PC.

I thought as much. But does one need to make a whole thread saying basically "Steam brought me to my senses"?

If he doesn't enjoy Nintendo and MS exclusives, I see no need to make a thread about it and go "Hurrah Playstation and PC", imho.

you can't really say which exclusives we will see next gen for xbox and playstation. so to say one year or so before the nextbox release that xbox exclusives for that console aren't interesting enough is a bit too early^^  for me, halo alone would be enough and for others, the combination of halo, forza and gears or so but sure, other people want to see minimum 10 exclusives they care about and don't even like halo and forza.

they hire a lot of people the last months, who knows what they all will work at.

Well I'm sure you're happy!

Too bad I can't play Nintendo on my Mac/PC. That (plus me hating PC gaming) is why I will never switch.

If you felt the thread was pointless, you could have just as easily not contributed to it.

Not really. I didn't say it was pointless. I said it served a point, but one that was anti-Nintendo and Microsoft and used Steam as a pretext.

So my contribution is based on that, just like you contributed to my PABR thread in the past thinking something similar.

If this was really about getting games for a good price, I got a playstation 3 2nd hand for 140$ and got 10 games I actually wanted for another 80.

Ultimately, if you want games on a console for cheap, there's a way. And bear in mind, the steam sales are on older games. Sure you'll get it for 10$ on steam, but you can get it second hand on a console with a controller for a much more affordable platform for 10$ also.

So if he never actually never wanted Nintendo and MS games, Steam has no bearing on it whatsoever. To me it tells me he was spending too much for his games in the first place.

Uh...

"Does one need to make a whole thread saying basically "Steam brought me to my senses"?

"If he doesn't enjoy Nintendo and MS exclusives, I see no need to make a thread about it and go "Hurrah Playstation and PC", imho".

Both sentences imply that this thread's purpose is pointless.

No they don't. Perhaps they imply OP is making another point, but one that has little to do with steam. One that has to do with praising two platforms over two others. The point is there, but in my opinion they have no place.

There's alot of beating around the bush in this thread I find. It's kind of silly.

Sony has a lot of variety and Microsoft in truth only has Halo for me. Halo 4 is the only reason I am keeping my 360 and quite frankly I think I am at peace will writing off Microsoft at this point. The best Xbox games are formerly PC exclusive titles like Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead, Kotor, Jade Empire and many more. As for Nintendo, I am still iffy about the Wii U, but its never too late.

OK, I'm not going to continue to debate it, but there's definitely a spec of denial here.

Whatever his basis for jumping on the bandwagon, my question still hasn't been addressed. What's the issue?

The issue is he's saying that Steam made him realize he was wasting his money, when he could have gotten 2nd hand games on cheaper platforms with the same goal in mind: thrifty spending.

What this thread tells me is that he's praising steam and hence PC when in the end his issue in the first place was gross spending, more than he could afford. As such, he's either using steam as a pretext to discredit the value of other platforms (Nintendo and MS's), or he didn't look hard enough for a spending habit that better suited his budget.

Well thats one thing I love about VGChartz outside of talking about sales with my fellow gamers. You get to express yourself, talk about sales and enjoy gaming news feeds. Most gaming forums are too rigid. I've been on this site too long speaking to you guys not to be comfortable and enjoy a "roundtable" conversation with you. As for the "Hurrah Playstation and PC" bit thats just my taste. I go to those who satisfy my need for creativity and variety. PC will give me the majority of games that are multiplatform and the PS4 will give me at least 3/5 of the top exclusives tat come out ever year as console exclusives.
