Basil: I hear it. Crazy how such a discussion can be born just from someone's decision stick by 2 devices only. Don't get it, but hey, is what it is.

Crazy how you can not even understand the issue and take sides.

It has nothing to do with any of what he said. I just had ONE game that I actually consider my self a fan of and decided to slip in my word, and here you are, calling me a fanboy.

I'm proud of you all.

Hey, enjoy the chartz guys, they're all yours for guys like you and Basil to pretend to know it all about everything and crap on others who disagree.

Have fun

Not once were you called a "fanboy", at least from me. Basil raised some points and I agree with them. The OP was simply saying what he plans do for the future and it didn't require the extra added baggage that so needlessly followed.

If you are having trouble with people tackling your opinion (and essentially can't take criticism), then I also agree you aren't someone to debate with.

He called me a troll. End of story.

CGI-Quality said:

Well, not exactly. He said you were "trolling his wall", but it's a battle of semantics and pointless at that. You feel insulted - report it. Done.

"And yes, the presentation was far superior imo for the PSP version over the NDS imo, also saying "Really.....", stop acting like a troll already."

You don't need to ask. I'm just telling you that it's not possible to debate with him. He gets up in arms. If you want to discuss this further, go to my wall. You can understand I'm very upset.

Since you want to be on topic about Steam.

@ post your about finding cheaper games on other platforms - lol, why buy a used, possibly scratched/chipped copy of a game that probably would look bad on a HD tv (unless you have a SDTV but even than would look bad) when you can play it on a PC with better resolution and for new.

I've seen so many recent games going on cheap price on Steam, games that I still see for 49.99 and 59.99 at retail and online stores. Do you even have Steam?

A pre-owned Fable 3 on best buy (yes because I dont go/look at pawn shops to buy stuff) costs 19.99, a new one costs 29.99, yet on steam as we speak its going for $12.49. I consider Fable 3 as a recent game (definition of recent game to me is any game that came out within the last 2-3 years), anything that came out within a year would be considered new to me.

Which comes to another example, Max Payne 3 which was released like last month? 59.99 on online and retailer stores. 29.99 on steam few days ago. $40.19 as we speak.

Steam has been around for a long time and its gonna be around even longer, more people should check out steam especially the fact that technology is getting better and cheaper (in regards to PC parts that were expensive few years ago) that you can easily play a game that may of came out in early-mid 2000s and equally enjoy it (if not more) than on a outdated platform.

If you can see my earlier post I was saying how if you are a smart shopper you could save money or pay pay near Steam prices. I bought Fable 3 for $9.99 new last week and Max Payne is $40 at Amazon and some other retailers. As I said the superior PC versions of last gen games can be had new and used for PC for near Steam prices. The only thing that Steam really brings is instant delivery of purchases. With many companies talking about microtransactions in game, Valve had the great idea to make full games the microtransactions. Id wager that >90% of Steam users have dozens of games that they will never play due to this business model. I personally dont care for Steam(yet probably own 100 games for it) as I dont like DRM but at $2 a game I can live with it. I still prefer to buy boxed copies so I can sell/trade/lend games if needed. PC is great because of mods, backwards compatibility, indy&exclusive games, not DD games.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I guess it depends on where you buy it, I personally hate buying used games, I only get them new condition ;p.

100 games on steam @__@ , man I dont want that much, at least not now xD. I wanna finish or at least put a decent amount of hours into the games I have gotten on steam before getting more. I've got motivation to do so as well! (Recording/Reviewing).

I'm not too familiar with the DRM issue, I've been hearing alot of it lately, but I am guessing that has to do with the most recent games? Can you please explain to me more about it o.o? (Also note that I am a new steam user and I'm buying the classics/old games not the new/recent ones).

Also what do you mean by "DD" games o.o?

DD = Dangerously Distasteful

No. I checked his account after the Summer sale. That was my mistake.

So does that mean console gamers are subsidising PC gamers?

In a way yes. The console gamers should be getting these sales, because if you look at where the majority of the money in sales comes from for the top titles the console games should get first pick. Luckily PC for PC gamers they dont take shit from anyone, so they dont have to pay for Windows Live and they get some of the best multiplats in bundles that console gamers paid top dollar for and still continue to pay for (as in mostly contributed to the sales of).

Well, if Valve makes a console with Apple......then you can just download them directly to your console.

Steam is awesome, but to be fair you can sell your hardcopy games for nearly the same price you paid. I like to own hard copies of games I like, especially Nintendo franchise games because those games are fun to play even when they are old.

Thats the great thing about Steam, the game is always with you and for the price you pay I doubt having a hard copy even matters. This is coming from a guy who is pro hard copy games. If I can get games at rental prices and keep them on a Steam account? Screw the hard copy lol.

I dont think so at all. If i make a great game and sell it at $50 and sell 100 copies i would of made $5000. if i charge $25 for the game but sell 200 copies im still losing nothing as i would of still made $5000. I know it might be a bad way of putting it, but i think they sell alot more with the cheaper prices and well make their money back.

I am sure with a sale of this sort Steam  just raised the PC monthly sales percentage. I am sure the sales were up and over 100%. That should speak louder than anything. Im not bitching about it, but Im not taking it anymore if I know theres an alternative. My former alternative was to wait until console games dropped in price. Steam sales outside of PC are unheard of in the console realm. Stores and publishers see too much profit from console gamers.
