The only city I know of that is doing good is Columbus. Am I right? I heard that they are getting a lot of development and the sort. But just going by what I've been told and what I have seen it's hard to believe.

Columbus does well but, and I can really only speak for Youngstown on this, all the ex steel workers and other blue collar laborers are all going to work with the fracking companies. And a rising tide floats all boats, construction companies get work building plants. Trucking companies get work supplying materials. Local diners and stores get the boost of a steadily empolyed buyer base and even hotels have been cropping up around the plants.
The success of the cruze has really helped as well since we build that here.
Time for hype

So it's kind of the same thing that is happening to North Dakota? They are getting the same affect; Industrial Jobs -> More people -> more Restaraunts -> More Money for the Economy.

What does that have to do with anything? |
He's worked wonders for the state since he got in office. Businesses aren't scared of being in the state anymore. Its far from perfect, but he's doing a lot of good for our state. The result is that in May, we had the 2nd highest job growth of any state in the US. Then you have all the fracking thats starting up that likely wouldn't have been approved under a Strickland administration.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
If we did a survey to see which states were right-to-work and which were union, would all five states in the Top 5 Best states be right-to-work?

Depends on how you define "best", if we're to be honest here. In my opinion, I would not consider having the most "environmental protections" to be a positive thing. Education and health care measures of "good" are probably due to the schools and hospitals going into bankruptcy because Texas is forced to educate illegals and give them all free care. Criminal justice scoring low is probably due to the inherent bias in the court system against minorities. That's one place where I agree with my friends on the left. Rich white people almost never get the death penalty.
State of Virginia, Why u so awesome?
We were number 1 last year, got hurt this year with our transportation problems (but those are being addresses slowly with the expansion of metro and multiple highway projects). Lived here for 22 years, cant see myself living anywhere else. Best state in the union.

Lets see...
Yeah looks like it.

While I'm sure that's a factor I doubt it's the only factor though. Mississipi is at the bottom afterall.

Because it causes groundwater to catch fire, and the companies are allowed to keep whatever poisons they're pumping into the ground perfectly secret.
Poison is not a worthy tradeoff for profits. There needs to be a moratorium on fracking before it can be brought under proper environmental scrutiny with careful guidelines set in place for all companies to follow.
and lol at "Right to Work." The only "right" you have is to be fired if you get too uppity. That's what your "rights" afford you.
