Seriously, PS2 has FAR more shovelware than actually good games. That's not a diss to the PS2, that's just a product of popularity.

XBox360: FPS

Wii: RPGs / Minigames

PS3: Blu ray?

I see what ya did there   . Anyway this WAS about the wii and the shoveware the some third parties put in the wii, but these types of threads never stay ontopic.

 On this site, no thread stays on topic.........I love it.

what I find funny is all the people arguing how there's so much shovelware for this console, or no there's not, or there's more on that console. etc.

Has anyone stopped to mention the fact that there are some shovelware games that are actually fun? some people WANT mindless repetitive games that they'll get tired of after playing for 3 hours because they don't HAVE 3 hours to play, but only about 15 minutes at any time.

Or maybe they want the shovelware because it's something like the carnival game. it may be shovelware, but from what I hear, the only negative thing about it is "ZOMG! Minigame = PHAIL"

Nah.. there was tons of that for the PS1 and PS2 and it didn't seem to affect their reputation. Besides.. you don't have to play high school musical or catz if you don't want to.

Depends if you consider shovelware to mean a bad game or a cheap to produce game. I think it means a bad game. For example, all XBLA games are cheap to produce, but i don't consider them to be bad games or shovelware.

The real question is does anyone here really care that much?

I know I don't. I don't buy shovelware, therefore it means little to me. The only way it would were to be if it interfered with the games I do want to buy and play, like if SE suddenly decided to cancel FFCC in favor of 3 shovelware titles no one wants. But that wouldn't happen.

What gets to me is that the people screaming about shovelware the loudest are the ones who never intended on buying it in the first place. It's like those people huddled in a corner predicting the death of the industry at the sight of Wii Fit, even though they had no intention of ever buying that game. It kind of makes you wonder why they put so much effort into something that was never going to impact them.
