OT: The price tag will most likely be around 199$. Since the current PS3 is 249.99 then I doubt they would ever go over the 200$ mark with this revision.

Don't think so. The Hard Drive isn't that huge a factor in the price

not sure but the difference between 4gb and 250gb xbox 360 is over 50 bucks if i'm not wrong. if a 320gb costs 214€ atm, it would cost less at holidays even without pricecut. so without pricecut the 320 gb model would cost maybe 199€ on german amazon at holidays. i believe the new 250gb model will cost 149€ then with pricecut and the 16gb could cost 99€ or maybe 109€

i'm obviously talking about the retail price and not official price. it depends how the pricefight will be between the retailers.

The retailers are probably pricing it low because they know a new model's coming and they need to clear the stock to make space.

My guess is that the 250gb and 500gb will keep the 249 and 299 prices, and that the 16gb one will be sold at 199.

I just like smaller designs for consoles, aesthetically. And yes, it also helps from a space perspective, my slim barely fit on the shelf were I had it. I'm about to move abroad so I don't know how much space I'll have. If it were smaller I would consider buying it but as it is I'm not interested, and I'm sure there are more people like me. I would've thought that Sony would have been able to reduce the size in 3 years.

I mean, it's not a huge deal but it would've been nice.

I would have imagined this being smaller considering there is a smaller die size of the cell chip than the one in the latest models. Retaining an internal power supply is probably the biggest factor in size. The HDD will need to stay the same for compatibility, but shouldn't the removal of the ejectable disk drive help more. Why sliding instead of a pop top?

I'm not sure if this is real, I anticipated an external power supply and around 2/3 to 1/2 the size of the current model. Is everyone accepting this leak as real? When can we expect an official announcement? TGS?



Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I see. Perhaps when the price goes down retailers will have less of a reason to cut the price below RRP.

I still think the cheapest model will be 199 (RRP), if it's sold for cheaper then that'd be great.

Don't really care about the look personally. If it runs properly and efficiently that's all that matters. 16gb version definitely going to be 149.99 or 199.99. This will be interesting. They trying to fight Nintendo.

Oddly enough, people were saying that with the first slim. But after a few weeks, people were buying them as replacements left and right.
