How's that for logic? PS3 is 22k clear of 100k |
Lol, was going to point out the same thing.
As for the Vita discussion, I think what will help it the most will be the price cut to $199 (which I expect it to get by this holiday season). I think it's pretty obvious that it would be doing much better had Nintendo not dropped the price of the 3DS to $169. Since they did, the Vita's price is seen as a big negative, especially in this economy. But, as soon as the prices are comparable again, the Vita should start selling on par with the 3DS. At least in the US and EU. Japan may still remain 3DS country by ~15K-25K each week.

I think the problem there is the 3DS didn't have the price drop the whole year which changed things a lot, and people are well aware of the 3DXL now and it is surpressing sales.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
Bad sales all around, even 3DS. I wonder what Nintendo will do with the 3DS since they already pricecut it. They probably will not pricecut again for 3-4 years. 3DS XL helps of course and maybe another model? I do not really understand why all the models but I guess if it sells systems.

The PS3 has no real heavy-hitters coming, and most consoles fall a fair whack from this time through to September. Even if it loses 1-2k a week, which it may well do on average, that'd leave it at 95k before October, and sales pick back up.
The 3DS, however, has a new version (which always helps), and a brand new 2D Mario game. You can expect sales to double for the 3DS that week. So whilst the PS3 may be hovering around the 100-110k mark, the 3DS will likely stabilise around the 200-300k mark...
At the moment, they are pretty close. That is true. But I doubt the 3DS will be overtaken any week, bar maybe the week before the XL's launch. Afterwards, the gap will be big enough between them to fit a Wii, a Vita, and maybe even a 360 between them.
I'm liking these legs from Xenoblade. It dropped out of the top 100 in the US for a week, then went back to 90, then 75, then 68, 61, now 48!
The more people who get the game, the better
I had no idea Anarchy Reigns was even coming out this week alone this year. Havent seen a trailer for it in ages.
I don't know why any of you were expecting great numbers from FFT.....
Truthfully, there was little buzz for the title outside "core" circles. Many also seem conflicted between FFT and Rhythm Thief (both have been well received)....
Anyone else excited to see Heroes of Ruin's sales number in the next two weeks? FFT never entered the Top 50 USA pre-orders, but HoR is at 48 two weeks before launch. I know the pre-order charts aren't always very telling when trying to predict performance relative to another title, but I hope that HoR can garner a 40k debut. Though I hate the fact that the game is crap covered in attractive features, there aren't many effort from western devs on the 3DS. HoR's performance could influence publishers.
Oh shit SONy , PS3 and X360 back to 2 million split again.
Wonder how long it will be until MS 'adjust' their numbers again to widen the gap back lol.

Yeah, HoR's numbers should be amazing. I mean, it sold a few k copies last week, despite not being launched yet!
But yeah, hope it does well. It's a good game, if not great. If it does do well (and it should with all the advertising it's getting...), hopefully more devs will jump on the boat and make similar games!
