I already have MM so I got Metroid 2 for the eshop. I wanted those sweet posters but I wasn't eligible.

Really? You would have picked posters over a free game?

The only game that remotely interested me was Metroid 2, which is my least favorite game in the series after Other M. I don't even know if I'll play it, but those posters looked really awesome.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Around the Network

Gonna get me some free playing cards. :)

I didn't get any because those rewards sucked. They were way better in past years, before Nintendo decided to give us pins.

If you have the platnium or gold status, why not get them? You do not loose coins and they are free gifts just for the status.

I don't have either becasue the platinum rewards were getting less exciting with each year. I wouldn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on Nintendo products only to get a free downloadable game or a poster. i want something that isn't available anywhere else. That makes it important. The pins were decent, but a poster is just lame. The Mario hat is by far the best platinum reward I've gotten.

Edit: If I did have platinum, I would have gotten the playing cards. But the thing is, Club Nintendo already offered Mario playing cards, and I already have those.

They certainly used to be better, I will agree with you, but I easily passed 600 coins and I didn't purchase those things just to get a cheap reward, I'll pass 600 again this year, already have more than 120 coins towards next year. They were all earned buying games or things we wanted (3DS, motion play, tales of abyss, 3d land, mk7, zelda oot 3d, kid icarus, etc).

If you get a code in a game, claim it, even at the end of the next year those coins are usable towards downloads and other things, and I imagine that will certainly increase.

One of my favorite rewards was getting the free zelda collection, that had Zelda, Zelda II, OOT and MM on one disc

I spend money on Nintendo products because i want the Nintendo products. The free stuff is just icing on the cake.

exactly, but the thing is they used to give us awesome stuff, and now we only get medeocre things. If they are going to give me something for being loyal to the company and spending all this money on them, it should be something worth more than 20 dollars. I know it sounds mean and I shouldn't complain about free stuff, but it just seems like they don't appreciate their fanbase enough anymore to give us things that we want.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I don't consider free first party games mediocre.
