Forums - Sony - Metal Gear Solid 4 gets trophy support

And thus, Konami's legacy of releasing a second version of every Metal Gear Solid game is intact! I was worried for a minute.

I think that, only the "frying eggs" are pre-recorded.  The rest should be in game because, no matter when they appear, Snake is wearing what you equipped him with before and you can change his camo by shaking the controller.  I didn't know they were all 1080p, though.  I'll have to look into that.  This was the game that made me stand in line at midnight to buy a PS3 combo.  My high expectations weren't reached with this one.  I had to buy Uncharted a week later to show people what the PS3 could really do.  Even if it was 1080p, the game was pretty inconsistent, looking absolutely stunning at times and then like a really good PS2 game at others.

Yep, just found out they're actually in-game, amazing stuff. Still, I'm not quite sure if they're actually native 1080p, I might have been fed bullshit.

1024x768, scaled to 1920x1080, temporal anti-aliasing.  Though there were 2-3 cutscenes that were recorded.  The cutscene at the end of Act 3, and the cutscenes at the end I think.  There are a few cutscenes you can't zoom in, those ones are recorded.

I think the reason for the patch is that they're re-releasing the game, and it is Sony's policy now that all PS3 games must release with trophy support. Since they had to add them for the re-release anyway, it makes sense that they also put a patch out.

I wonder if we'll be able to get trophies with old files or it will like when GTA4 got a trophy patch.

I believe that it'll need, at least, to start a new game. I'm finishing MGS4 again right now and surelly I'll do it one more time as soon as the trophy patch be available. It's such an amazing game, one of the most fantastic ones that I've played.
