Forums - Sony - How to appear offline while being online (PS3)

Isn't there an option to appear offline when you're online when you click Triangle on your name on the friends list? I think there are three options; Online, Busy, or Offline.

Yes, just triangle on your profile and change your status to offline....

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Why would you want to do this? For me it's the other way around. I feel too alone on PSN and no one ever writes to me. My PSN friends list is only like 15 guys and I wish I had more VGC members on it.

You can change your status to 'not available' but your friends can still see that you're online. You will just have a different symbol or something.

Who works this shit out ? lol Pretty neat trick but it should already be a feature that can easily be selected.

You've discovered a debug mode! Jay520 brace for incomming lawsuit, lol. Very interesting then, though I find very limited use for it personally. I have a small friends list but only I am to blame for that, restricting friends to those I know.

I have a small freinds list,so I could care less.

Posts like this always amuse me. If you see a thread that you don't care for, the normal thing to do would be to ignore the thread altogether. But instead, you not only enter the thread, but u also post in the thread - to inform everyone of your indifference.

to be fair, oldschoolfool said that he "could" care less, which means he does care about this.

OT: trying it right now - but...is this permanent or do you have to do this every logon(never mind, I read the last bit again)?

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

I just did it and it appears to work as you said, my friends list is all glitchy and has gaps and stuff but oh well. I just want to know if this is a glitch or some sort of intentional secret sony put in or something,
