Forums - Sony - VGC is too critical of Sony

I am also in the boat that thinks $60 is too much for a console game.

Also, do you have a smartphone capable of gaming? If so, you would be very surprised at the level of polished and quality games to be found. Here is a good example.

There are plenty more. It is also a common mistake when people think that iPhone/Android games lack polish, content, etc... just because they are much less expensive. This is not the case at all.

You do know here on vgchartz, we are supposed to hate on mobile gaming even more then hating on the Vita.. especially anything Apple... >_>

Oh damn, sorry, I forgot. Let me fix what I said then.

Fuck those high quality, low cost iPhone/Android games, I want $40 Vita/3DS games that offer the same amount of content for 10-40x the price!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Is there no way that the vita can get the new monster hunter? We all know that it's probably the one game that can 'save' the vita in Japan, but have whether it can get it or not is another thing.. Have Nintendo and capcom signed an exclusive contract or is 3ds exclusivity simply down to capcom?

I would wager that Vita gets Monster Hunter Portable 4G.

I'd imagine that's probably likely.  PSP never had any actual main-series Monster Hunter games, it always got remakes/enchanced versions of the original two games.

Then again, it depends if Nintendo paid for exclusivity or not.  If I were them, I would have.  But they announced a few weeks back that they'd never pay for third-party exclusivity.  So who knows!

I'm worried about the Vita. But the PS3 launched late & expensive into a market where the 360 had already taken a huge chunk of the market. And it took a couple of years, but the PS3 certainly found its footing. I'm hopeful the Vita will do exactly the same.

huh?

when the PS3 launched it was the successor to the most popular console of all time and the 360 had a userbase of 5m.

the PSV launches as a successor to a handheld that did well but it is now up against the scuccessor to the most populat handheld of all time and comes out at a a time when that other handheld has a userbase of 15m more...

Its over, seriously it is

lmao what's over?

Sony fans ability to say ohhh look at Vita sales on the damn internet, I wouldn't count that as much of a loss

any kind of contest... thats whats over. The 3ds will utterly dominate and move firther away... the PSV will struggle to garner any more support from 3rd parties.

so sony fans abiity to play many and varied games...

becasue Nintendo consoles selling more than Sony consoles have done that before

see there what you wish and then there's reality, and the chances of that happing even with the sales are slim to none

It was important last gen because NDS didn't get a Monster Hunter game, so it was a PSP system seller. Do Vita fans really think it's going to make a difference in Vita-3DS sales if both consoles have a Monster Hunter game? Vita can only tie in this regard, having both consoles their own game. Vita fans should look for an exclusive game that creates this difference, Monster Hunter won't be this difference maker this gen if Vita gets its version, if Vita doesn't get it, then it's a 3DS system seller.

I agree, Vita needs something else to step up and become the next big IP. Who knows, maybe Soul Sacrifice can do something, but either way I think things will be much different from last gen in regards to both dedicated handhelds. Too much going for those mobile devices. I can only imagine what happens when these mobile devices get even more support.

Because we keep it real hear on VGChartz. Nobody gets a free pass. We are equal opportunity haters.

Damn straight the Vita is selling like a bag of flaming shit, the Wii U is DOOOOOOOMeD! And MS haz no gamz*, and PC gaming is too hard to understand which is why the only PC gamers are soccer moms playing Farmville, Apple has no buttons, EA is evil, Activision only has COD* which they are running into the ground, CRAPCOM.

*Hardcore multiplayer shooter, new IPs are the only games that count, and only 1st party exclusives count for MS.

yup plenty of irrational hate to go round

Lol +1

But 3ds got the biggest price cut ever for a handheld console and big systhem sellers we should link result with it's causes.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Thinking about it rationally and looking at the sales, Monster Hunter was growing in popularity but not quite 'there' yet until the PSP, where the sales seemed to grow exponentially with each installment.  Sony just need to get onto the next big thing before it happens.  Maybe Soul Sacrifice like a lot of people are saying, I'm sure they'd prefer it to be their own IP (since that won't go anywhere!)
