Positives of the 90's:
- Good shows such as Boy Meets World, Saved By the Bell, Disney's Recess, etc.
- Some good music such as Linkin Park, Blues Traveler, and Pearl Jam and of course the formation of Rise Against (although they didn't produce stuff till the 2000's)
- We could actually do things back in the 90's in school and whatnot, now kids are overprotected and are being prevented from building any character. The generation of kids from the 2000's are going to be complete pussies who can't stand up for themselves and expect everything to be handed to them.
- Although we didn't have online gaming, single player and splitscreen games were better back then for the most part.

Negatives of the 90's
- Horrid music like Nirvana, Britney Spears, Madonna, boy bands, etc.

You like Linkin Park but say Nirvana is horrible?! Wtf

Also, everyone is forgetting Radiohead. Didn't they start in the 90's?

I'd rather listen to Hybrid Theory or Meteora any day over Nevermind. Hybrid Theory isn't the best selling album of the 21st century by accident.

I have to mention a few things. First, there is absolutely no correlation between quality and popularity. Second, Hybrid Theory wasn't even the best selling album of 2000. Finally, Hybrid Theory over Nevermind? To quote one Twayne Boneraper, are you f***ing kidding me?

I never said it was the best selling of 2000, I said it was the best selling in the 21st century. That's according to Wikipedia so could be wrong.

And yeah Hybrid Theory over Nevermind for me.

And I can't stress enough how Cobain only has this "Legend" status because he killed himself. Yeah he would be famous regardless, but he wouldn't be a legend if he was still alive. If Chester Bennington had killed himself after Meteora I guarantee people would be considering Linkin Park one of the better bands of all time.

Unfortunately we will never know what had happened if and if. What we do know is that Cobain was a great musician.

Wikipedia says it is the best selling debut album of the 21st century.

Oh okay that's fair. I didn't notice the word debut in there. I wonder what was better selling though, 24 million copies is hard to beat.

@Marks

I have to make a couple additional points. You can not fairly compare CD sales of albums released since the advent of digital distribution to something released in 2000. It's funny that you use album sales to qualify Hybrid Theory as a great album when you consider the fact that Nevermind is significantly more popular. Finally, about Kurt Cobain, he may receive too much credit for his guitar playing but the man is remembered largely because he was an extremely talented, original and influential song writer. I couldn't care less about his suicide, he was brilliant and nothing Linkin Park will ever record will ever compare to anything released by Nirvana.

well thats some off of my head.

Marks and whoever arguing with , both linkin park and nirvana suck major ass compared to Alice in Chains
your argument is invalid =]

Best decade ever. The arcade is dead, long live the arcade!

Sega Rally
Daytona USA
Time Crisis
House of the Dead
Crazy Taxi
Virtua Tennis
Tekken
Ridge Racer
Soul Calibur
The Simpsons

the list is endless. Gaming may never come close to what we had in the 90s again. And the home consoles were absolutely blinding too!

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Let me just leave this here.

More great 90's Radiohead music:

People often remember all of the crap that came out of the 90s. But the 90s had a lot of great entertainment, and some really bad entertainment.

Just look at some of the movies:

Goodfellas

Pulp Fiction

Fargo

Shashank Redemption

Usual Suspects

Terminator 2....

And on and on.

Yup. I remember that movie even more. It was the first one I saw with this hot girl I dated for a while in College.

Not sure if anyone has poted this one yet.

{Awesome song video}

Beautful.

Radiohead are definately a 90's highlight. Oddly enough though I only have The Bends, never bothered to pick up any other albums (I do now listen to the songs from them, but I haven't paid for them)
