I'm not buying a brand new console just to play one game, no thank you.

No? I do it all the time. I bought a

Gamecube for Wave Race: Blue Storm
Xbox for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
DS for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Wii for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
PS3 for Flower
X360 for Tales of Vesperia
PSP for Jeanne D'Arc

I'll buy a 3DSXL for Paper Mario: Sticker Star.
Not a console, but 20 years ago I bought my first PC just for Sid Meier's Civilization (and claimed to use it for seminar papers even though I already knew I''d never finish university).

Eventually I bought more than one game for each of those systems but initially I bought all my systems for just one game. The first game on a system often was the only one I owned for months (or even more than a year like in Wave Race's and Old Republic's case). I'm aware though that not everybody wants to spend or is able to spend this much money for theoretically just one game.

I agree more games will eventually come out for you to buy, but for me a console will have to have at least 5 or more games that I REALLY want to play/own before I even think about buying it.

This  in my opinion is why you get lots of people saying "my ____ is gathering dust right now" simply because they bought it for one game and beyond that, there was nothing else to play on it that fitted their liking.

On the long run it's just not worth it.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Here's what doesnt make sense. 3DS has been out for some time and it has been known that MH would be on it. Vita just released and as of now there isnt going to be a MH on it. My thing is if these people opted to get the Vita ANYWAY, then they are just plain stupid and letting their hatred of Ninty or whatever blind them

Has nothing to do with hatred or fanboyism. Just pure preference.

Vita has much better specs than the 3DS and that alone is what decides it for some people.

There's a Monster Hunter game on Xbox 360. That doesn't mean MH fans went out and bought one just for that......

funny how specs didn't amtter when ps1 or ps2 where leasding the generations. As soon as roles are reversed and sony is on the back foot. SPECS is all that matters.

Their excuse would be that gaming has changed since then.  However, that excuse is a bit lame because I don't think prioritizing graphics really makes a better game.  The graphical difference between the PSV and 3DS aren't even worlds apart like everyone keeps saying it is.  Resident Evil: Revelations is a testament to that.

I bought the Wii just because of Skyword Sword. What a big mistake but at least Xenoblade redeemed it a bit. And considered to buy the Box for Gears of War, then I played and was terribly dissapointed

Halo is one of my favourite series of games and the main reason I have an Xbox 360. All my other favourites (Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, Mass Effect, GTA, FIFA) are multi plat, so if Halo had been a PlayStation exclusive I would have ended up with that console. Forza can easily be replaced by Gran Turismo.

People saying they wont buy a console for one game, the thing about this situation is that these are diehard fans of the series saying this. At least, they claim to be. The fact that they are saying "I don't want to buy a 3DS for this game" and calling it an inferior device that cannot produce a full MH experience is just... stupid and ignorant. Especially when they played the PSP version of the game.

So many assumptions in that post...

No, it's not "assuming" many things, I am referring to a specific group of people.  There are some people who can't afford it, and then there are those who may or may not be able to afford it, but wouldn't buy a game they want otherwise whether or not they had the money for it.  People are saying that they would never get it and only want it on the Vita or something along those lines.

basically in your first post you're calling people stupid and ignorant just because they choose not to buy a console just for one game.

No, I'm calling people stupid and ignorant for thinking the experience they get on the 3DS version is any less than the PSP version solely because it is a 3DS and not their preferred console.
