This is not about me, it is about the games overall. If a game gets great reviews is acclaimed by fans, and sold multi million copies, then this game is good. I don´t like GTA or Skyrim, they are overrated imo but I would never say those are bad games. Because obviously they are not. If people have an own opinion does not make them idiots, making wrong claims does.


I made this same point earlier in the thread but people didn't understand it. 

The statements: 'I don't like this game' and 'This game is bad' are completely separate. Yet this thread is titled bad games while people fill it with good games they happen to dislike. 



Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

"Good" x= "Successful"

Whether a game is good or not is a matter of subjective opinion.  Whether a game is successful or not is a matter of objective fact.  God of War, for instance, was obviously successful insofar as it sold a relatively high number of copies and made a large amount of profits.  By your backwards logic, though, I could just as easily say that God of War is objectively bad because the vast majority of PS3 owners did not support the game with a purchase.  THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN.

Do you see how wrong-headed that argument is?  There is absolutely no metric by which a game can be objectively determined "good" or "bad".

Let me try to explain my point of view.

People are getting paid to review games and to determine the value of a game. Those people are professional journalist who know what they are doing, and this is not just one person, this are hundreds of objective people. Just because you dislike it, does not make it a bad game.

Can't think of any games with great graphics that were 'bad' but maybe a few I thought were a let down.

I've noticed many saying Crysis 2. I'll probably go with that though on PC with the settings on Ultra and @ smooth frame rate it looks amazing which actually helped me enjoy the game more.

Oh and I remember that dragon game Lair! Its graphics were really good at the time, but it was so disappointing

Sonic and the Black Knight comes to mind. I really wanted to like it, as it's one of the prettiest games on the Wii. Its gameplay (or lack thereof?) was atrocious.

Also, as others have mentioned: Crysis. Horrible, horrible game.

The original Assassin's Creed. The graphics were good at the time, but the game was bad. How Ubisoft managed to keep it a multimillion selling franchise after that game I don't know. I'm glad they did though, because the sequels are very good.

Actually me disliking the game does make it bad.  TO ME.  Which is the only way a game can be bad.  

Whether a game is good or bad is 100% subjective.  There is not a way to objectively rate quality of entertainment, and there never will be.  That is the entire point.  Everything is in the eye of the beholder.

As for your whole thing about "objective professional journalists" reviewing games, I have three words for you.  KANE.  AND.  LYNCH.

No. Such a game is clearly good to the fans, and to the critics who rated it highly, but it could still be a bad game for others. Majority opinion is still just opinion.

The first AC. I wouldn't say it was bad, but it was pretty mediocre whilst having gorgeous visuals (at the time).
