I should've worded that better, sorry. I meant VII on home consoles.

Oh dear.... i fear we will never get an FF7 remake then...
Pff once sales keep dipping and FF games keep failing time after time (although fingers still crossed for Versus) they'll get desperate enough to make a remake, it's obvious the game will do well, as long as they don't ruin it.
Unless they get rid of the ultra feminine style they have no chance. The least feminine versions were 7, 8, and 12 and coincidentally my favorites. The last two 13 and 13-2 were pure estrogen and pretty boring. 13 bad world, boring combat. 13-2 bad characters and simple story through most. I do not expect much.

I would say FF8 had a femine style and in years to come i will compare that Squall/Rinoa stuff to that Twlight 'stuff'. FF8 had semi-awful characters, simply, predictably droll story. not a scratch on FF9 or FF12. other than that i agree.
FF15 is rumoured to be in development, so i'm more looking foward to that. its best to leave the masterpeices in the past imo. and focus on new things.
that being said, Wada's policy is wise, Kitase and Toriyama have greatly damaged the brand, and they have also damaged the Parasite Eve reboot as well. so these developers need to prove their worth before another console generation is lost .
For once I have to agree with the boss man Wada. I have not played a Final Fantasy game that has topped Final Fantasy VII as of yet.
Maybe Final Fantasy Versus XIII is the answer.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 was a step in the right direction. They finally found the "fun" factor which had been missing since IX. If they can just keep that factor, and put it to use in a better game in general, then they could save Final Fantasy. Eventually this would lead to a remake of Final Fantasy VII.
Square really needs to get some new talent though. Either some new talent, or some old with Sakaguchi. The current talent needs to be replaced either way.

Agreed, and not being sexist or anything but I don't think there's one girl that I liked in FF, not saying they should all be a big sausage fest but, don't make them the main character. They all seem to have this annoyingness to them.
Need more Barret, Vincent, Cloud, Sephiroth, Squall, Laguna, Zidane, Steiner, Auron characters.
