Another thing you could consider is the sales of memory cards. People who bought 8-16 could be going all digitial to combination and 16-32 has a more likelyhood of going all digital. Too bad we don't have sales data on those.

Another thing to thing about is that, if true, digital versions on the Vita store are about $5 cheaper when compared to physical copies. It wouldn't be beyond the realm of posibility that a good number of vita owners are taking advantage of this.

Lastly, not all NA versions are sold in NA. Some copies find their way all the way here in Asia, not to mention there are a bunch of people, like me, who live in Asia but have NA/US PSN accounts for buying digital versions of games.

Edit: You might also like to separate by region. The distribution of retail vs digital in NA/US may be different in EU as well as in Japan/Asia since different environment, culture, perception, internet capabilities etc can affect the percentage of retail sales and digital sales.


I think it will be very hard to differ between the relation digital/retail between NA/EU/Japan. This would mean 3 polls. Yes i also think we can't use the poll on this site where mainly american and european people are vote and use the data to get figures from japan. i think japanese people aren't downloading as much as we do, can someone say something to that? Are japanese people downloading more or less? (all i know is they have the better infrastructure).

Btw, as more data come in the numbers will become more and more accurate (in it's method which is not the best i know that). at the moment it stands at 220,000 in totals.

Well acording to this article dated March 28, Japan sales of Gravity rush has toped 100k. This is 100k is combined sales of retail and digital. So, maybe you can get the sales number of gravity rush here on VGC for that time period, subtract that from 100k and you have a rough estimate of digital sales for japan for that time period and could probably extrapolate a percentage distribution between the two.

I checked it for you guys and as far as I can tell, the demo and full game ratings are combined. Looking at GR ratings count on the full game section and on the demo section shows the same number of ratings 5,561 as of right now.

Thanks, thats a shame, hmm EU store has 265 ratings full game and 4203 for the demo, so that is 4468 combined with 265 as the full game thats 5.91%. 265*20= 5300.

US has 5561 combined 5.91% of that is 329 ratings for the full game, so thats 329*20= 6580 (Check my thread to see why)

EU- 5300

US- 6580

I know this is probably highly inaccurate but thought it was funny so included it.

i'll keep updating the OP with the actual numbers based on actual VGChartz data and actual poll data for the next few weeks.
As for now, it stands at 64,000 digital sales worldwide for a total of 204,000. Seems legit to me.
