It would be interesting to see digital sales with some of these games.

I bet LBP would be at least 2m higher, it was given away for free when the PSN notwork happened last year.

PS3 exzluzivez dont haz teh salezzzzzzz

lol, there are 6 multiplatform games that sell more on the PS3 and vice versa. PS3 still haznt got teh salez?

Exactly what I was thinking :)

no repeating franchises. So nice spin.

Even then it's pretty good. If only certain franchises are capable of outselling on the 360 then it says something.

Your "certain" franchises are still the majority of franchises.

Anyway, VGC hardware hardware-data was far from being on track in the last months and Software is probably a total mess, especially with the lack of digital sales and PC sales. Minecraft for example is not even on the list and it sold more than 2 million on 360 and more than 11 million overall.

Zumba fitness with 7.5 million missing because it became a hit on the Wii and sold really well on 360, but not so much on PS3.

Fable III sits at 4.7 million without digital copies and without PC sales.

etc etc.

Sequels are the lifeblood of this generation and generate about 75% of the total sales. So if you exclude them, exclude digital sales, exclude sales for PC / console and use unreliable data on top of that, you should not celebrate and draw the conclusion like "I told you so PS3 Gamez $ELL!!!!!1111"

Pointless comparison is pointless.

probably because if he put every cod etc the first ten games would be CoD & Halo

Hardly matters. The original statement was that multiplatform games don't sell on PS3. Try to keep up.

Are angered easily?

His tone didn't help.

God of War III will be 18th once Vgchartz gets its act together and finally fixes its numbers. It should now be at 4.97m and then with the Trilogy edition it's at a grand total of 5.09 million.

And Jay520 you should use GameRankings instead of the inferior shit-hole of a site known as Metacritic, it's a lot more accurate in the way it converts scores and it doesn't use a nonsense weighted average rating system.

it would still give a more accurate picture than this table.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Good work Jay. Shame that some users would much rather prefer to draw their own conclusions based on this table, which I know probably wasn't your original intention.

Interesting to see BF3 so high up there actually, well of course its taking all the CODs etc out of the equation, that's still quite hefty numbers for this iteration, and I think it's got some decent legs? Despite EA fucking the consumer at every opportunist update.

Also I think a good conclusion to draw from this is meta has somewhat an effect on sales - after all it represents what a small sample thought of the game, and it seem to help drive the sales in other cases however, where the meta is low people are pulled in by the hype - FFXIII, MoH etc.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Wasn't there a article and thread few weeks ago where it was stated that the PS3 is now the Nr1 where the most gaming software is sold at worldwide?

Nice list - You have to think...How many CoDs came out this Gen?80 or so?
Take this twice > 160 spots would be taken by the same Game if you split them in to 2 consoles....Its refreshing to see only 1 of every IP.

Surprised how well multiplatform games have sold on the PS3, and that gap between both versions of FFXIII is huge. Where people got the idea that multiplatform games don't sell as well on PS3 I'll never know.
