The thoughts of Smash Bros tourney folk should have little to do with judgment of the game itself.

Yeh, people who spend hours every day learning the ins and outs of a fighting game system and characters probably know nothing about balance.

The tournament culture rejects the spirit of Smash Bros and plays hypocritically. Their input is invalid.

And neither of those, whatever the hell they mean, have any bearing on tournament players being in the best position to judge character balance. Any serious fighting game will now be tested, advised-upon or demoed with respected tournament players pre-release, and if SSB is to have proper character balance - making it a better game - this is the solution.

I don't know why you seem to have a disdain for those people that dedicate hundreds of hours into a game you yourself enjoy.

Irreconciliable differences. Tourneyfolk (using the polite four letter f-word instead of the more appropriate three-letter f-word) seem to think that i enjoy the game improperly (because i dare to turn items on and enjoy stages other than Final Destination), while i insist that their fun is improper. Until the community stops being so horrid, i'll continue to have no tolerance for them or their ways.

I want Groose from Skyward Sword to appear on the next smash bros. He's the best character in the game hands down.

Some Namco characters like Kazuya or maybe Son Goku?
that could be awesome!

Theres a problem though - smash bros is not a tournament game. It has stated by Sakurai many times he does not intend the game by played like that. So for a game like Smash tournament players are the least of opinions that should be considered. In a sense they are the anti christ of the soul of smash..

@Xxain and Khan. Smash was meant to be both fun and competitive. Always was, always will be.

The fact that the game is balanced doesn't mean it has to be less fun. They taylor the balance for the competitive crowd, and those who play for fun can just use what's there, they wouldn't know the diff.

Khan, if the spirit of tourneyfolk made you feel lesser because you wanted to use items, that's their bad. But it doesn't make their skill and knowledge about the game's balance less valuable.

Guys, I'm with Sal on this one.

Ah, but it does. If bad people have an idea, it limits the credibility of that idea (which i know is a logical fallacy, but i don't care. I hate tourneyfolk, and refuse to acknowledge their contribution)

^ahahaha, okay gotcha ;)

Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing for the game? The game will probably get done faster but will it be at a detriment to the game?
