Forums - Sony - PS Vita sales up 157% in Japan this week

"The PlayStation Vita saw a huge 157 per cent increase in sales week on week in Japan thanks to the release of Persona 4: The Golden.

Vita sales jumped from 13,383 copies to 34,459 units, no doubt almost entirely down to the release of Atlus' Persona 4 which sold 137,076 copies.

Nintendo's 3DS remains the clear leader with 61,793 units sold.

The software Top 20 also sees a new entry for Lollipop Chainsaw. The PS3 version sold 53,347 copies at N.3, while the Xbox 360 version charted at No.9 with 14,422 copies sold."

Persona continues to thrill the Japanese

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

This gives high hopes for Soul Hackers and Megaten 4.
And also Persona 5, which will be Sony's. PS3, Vita or both.

Series is live and well

Good to see some boost finally happening with the PSVita

Good news, even though it won't last.

Wooooow 35,000 systems sold.... That is the most popular game for the Vita, right? Cause we don't know what could top that w no other popular title announced for this year, right? In the upcoming months the only thing that could put Vita in those levels is the White color Vita...

There's also a big system seller that may get a surprise release anytime: Price-cut - The Game.

We shall see if it drops or not.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Good games sell consoles as usual. Perhaps this is the biggest axiom of the game industry.

The way I look at it is that quality games sells systems. Persona 4 did exactly what was expected of it, massive hardware boost for the PlayStation Vita and it sold over 120k first week. Which that alone has placed the game in a very exclusive club on the system.

Persona 4 could actually be the first Vita game to still be in the top 10 the week after release. Atlus should be very proud of what they did and should help in them bringing more content to the Vita.

Lets not forget the Crystal White Vita and Special Edition Hatsune Miku Vita bundle (special Vita hardware as well).
