No Elder Scrolls or Fallout? You gotta play one of those at lease once... especially Skyrim and Fallout 3.

And I know I'm being nitpicky here, but Zelda II isn't an RPG by any stretch. The only difference in gameplay (aside from the side-scrolling aspect) is that you extend your life/sword/magic with XP instead of collecting heart containers and upgraded items at regular intervals like clearing dungeons in other Zelda games.

I would totally disagree. How many Zelda games can you spend hours grinding to up your stats. Yes you choose which stats are improved when you gain a level, but I would totally consider Zelda 2 an RPG.

Oh, so grinding to improve stats automatically makes a game an RPG then?

Guess I'll have to add Call of Duty, Madden, NHL, Forza, and Wii Fit to my list of RPGs then

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I don't know if I want to go out and list mine, but I am pretty sure my profile has the games listed in the games collection thing. I haven't really had a wealth of consoles to play on so that would explain the rather limited console variety.

Honestly I'm one of those people that doesn't understand why only certain games deserve the label of "role playing game" when you are pretty much playing a role in just about every game you play.  It just irks me.

But anyway, I think the one thing that sets "traditional" RPGs apart from everything else is their turn-based, party-focused gameplay as opposed to you being one single character with the gameplay being real-time combat focused.  That's why I guess I prefer "WRPGs"... because other than the leveling-up-all-your-stats-part, they have very little in common gameplay-wise with traditional or JRPGs.

So Skyrim would not fit in as an RPG.
