Forums - Nintendo - SSF4 vs DOA:Dimensions

I'm in a bit of a dilemma, with cash tight and wanting enough bang for my buck I'm not sure which one to get out of these two, I thought I wanted ssf4, but can't decide, I've heard dead or alive Is really addictive with great gameplay and has plenty of modes and ssf4's controls are not that good and it's terrible in 3d mode, can anyone sway me on this one??

SSF4 it has more features, but im kind of bias. it is probably one of my fav video game series and i never cared for DOA franchise, but the 3ds one did provide me with some fun

Doa: Dimensions has a... photography mode... if you're so inclined. Got the game banned in Sweden, it did.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Dead or Alive Dimensions it's a true game of his genre, you need to be good to do good combos and when you realize what's your favorite character you better stick with it to get better or you'll never learn anything.

Great challenge, if you can do streetpass like me, also, you will recieve so many challengers to try and beat for rewards.

I've also tried, with a friend SSF4 but it's the 4th no more no less no improved combat no return in the 2nd chapter style, still a delusional sequel with overmuscular design that i don't like.

Spiders den are not for men.

SSF4 is the console version of SSF4 and everything that goes along with it. It's not perfect. People online-and there are ALWAYS people online-tend to spam special moves since you can set the touch screen to do any move you like. If you actually learn the mechanics of the game, any strategy can be overcome. I've played a few games in the DoA series but, to be honest, I never felt like the game was anything more than a Virtua Fighter rip-off with better graphics and hotter women.

Again with Virtua Fighter?

I only ask because i discovered today that Sonic the Fighters, one of the only non-smash-bros fighters i have ever remotely enjoyed, is supposed to be very similar to Virtua Fighter, and if Dead or Alive is as well, maybe i should buy in...

To be honest I hate virtua fighter, it doesn't have one interesting fighter and ended eternal champions, I know to most people eternal champions was a pretty crap beat em' up, the second game was meant to be good though and thought it had alot of potential, I think doa:dimensions sounds more rewarding with learning the combos, and alot of content, how does that graphics look? I thought tekken looked good until I heard there was hardly any modes, that game had so much potential of been a great game

Your heard correct, its pretty much the earlier VF games, with the cast replaced with Sonic characters, a little too zany for me. BUt if you can track down a copy of Sonic Gems Collection for GC its on there. I still have mine somewhere.

ANd i agree with D21lewis on DOA but not SSF4, that version is not the arcade one, so you still wont be getting the difinitive version and spamming moves wiht the touchscreen is for cowards, im surprised Capcom didnt allow the making of rooms with this feature removed.

Id pick Tekken over DOA anyday of the week, but in this case ive heard nothing but bad things about the 3ds one. they say its like a really bad port of Tekken 6. get it for another system
