Lets see if I can remember...

  • "No way Uncharted 2 will look that good. Only in cutscenes."
  • "LBP will not be innovative nor unique."
  • "God of War III can't possibly look that good in-game."

I could go on, but it would be overkill.

Bottom line, pay attention to what the pros have been saying. That way, you won't have to post on my wall about how wrong you were (again, the culprits are present and know who they are).

I have one, too.

"No way Uncharted 3 will look as good on PS3 as it was shown at E3."

And it didn't.

No, it didn't. It looked better.

I disagree.

Looks bogus to me, like someone just compressed the fuck out of it to make it look bad. I could be wrong, but I don't remember it looking like that at all.

He played in practically the exact same manner as the E3 demo yet still got minor differences. Should be pretty obvious that it isn't scripted. Hell they've stated already you can avoid that confrontation entirely. I don't know why people are so amazed by these 'punch lasers' to think this is scripted. I remember SC: Conviction and Uncharted 3 had something somewhat similar if only slightly.

Showing off at E3 is a big deal, and doing a live demo is ballsy as hell. I bet that whoever was playing this practiced for a MONUMENTAL amount of time in order to be able to do it "properly" (aka show everything off naughty dog had been working on)

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

It goes both ways, though.

  • Everything in Uncharted 2 is running in real time (remember we had to prove that the cutscenes were pre-recorded)
  • LBP will be HUGE (one guy--not on this site--even said that developers might even hire people that made really popular levels)
  • "God of War III can't possibly look that good in-game"--not sure if anybody said this but.....I'll give you that one.  GOW III is BEAUTIFUL.

We both could go on but....yeah.  Overkill.

People short change the Sony just as often as the over-hype them.  That is why there is "Balance in the Force".

That actually happened or they were commitioned to work on the LBP1goty version of the game

Well, I thought the fact that it was the exact same demo was somewhat of a disappointment in itself, but I was quick to recover, lol; however, I'm pretty sure the game itself is not scripted, since Druckmann and Straley themselves have already provided numerous comments stating that the game can be radically different depending on the choices you make.

Plus, the two gameplay demos were similar, yes, but they were also practically identical -- meaning he played the exact same way and shot at the exact same time. With that in consideration, (Although, first of all, you've got to admit that the fact that they could play it in such a precisely similar way means that they must've rehearsed this gameplay demo over a million times...:P), it would be pretty obvious that things wouldn't play out the same way if you avoided choking the first guy, or stayed directly with stealth, etc.

However, as much as I am looking forward to this game, just in case, (as I've learned), I shall keep my Objective Skepticism helmet close by, lol. Hope for the best, expect something slightly less than that, you know? :P

Ween't you the poster that joined in at the Offical Thread? Yep, thought so!

Hahaha, yep, you got me. xP I'm pretty much just jumpin' across threads at this rate, lol.

maybe I should bookmark this thread :D you guys are runing it by posting media impressions here! we could have had way more ppl expressing their 'doubts' that way

And btw the reason they play it the same way is obvious...this seems to be the most dramatic way to play through that part. You do not want to go all stealth in a public demo lol you will put them to sleep

Hmmm...one has to wonder how the rest of the world didn't see this lingering "source". And yet, Uncharted 3 remains the one to talk about for console visuals.

Guess you have no response to my earlier comment. Quite telling, though I blame myself. I should have known people would cling to my references as a means to deter from the topic at hand (and the info that confirms things aren't so "scripted" - the new fad in town).

Silly me.

There was nothing to argue about your random fact that you pulled out of the air. And I didn't say Uncharted looks awful or anything like that. It's a staple in terms of graphics, but at E3 it looked even better. Also, I really don't have the time to get into an argument with someone that high and mighty like you, I know this will never end unless I stop it, so I'll be the better man and stop this right here. Now queue the witty response, I am out.

It's those smug-ass emoticons.  They're an open invitation for people to challenge you.  Always winking and laughing their asses off.  One even stuck his tongue out at me.  I'm trying to take the high road, here.
