If wii U can't beat by 2013 a 8 year old console in NA things will be very bad for Nintendo

and in the real world 360 version still sells better than PS3. THose PS3 people didnt leave LIVE most of them probably only have PS3 to play it on

the 3DS was overpriced at launch and it's launching lineup was weak, if wii U launch at 350$ or less and has most of the games that are already annouced has launch titles I would be very surprised to see the wii U not outselling the 360, did you see the last npd the xbox numbers are going down very quickly it's clear the console has reach market saturation

I will be extremely sad if the Wii U doesn't outsell a console that's been out for 7 years and has already such a high user-base. Even if that console is the 360.

At the same time I feel as though I'm having a harder time believing in the Wii U every day that passes. Every single Industry insider and forecaster I know is saying absolutely nothing but doom and gloom for the Wii U, and I can only have these conversations so many times with them before my own belief starts to falter. Maybe I'm not a devoted enough believer. I have failed Nintendo. :(

In NA? Probably not. Even though the 360 most likely peaked last year, it still looks like it'll sell about 7 mil this year. The Wii didn't even manage 7 mil in '07, so the Wii U would have to be enormously popular right off the bat, AND the 360 would have to decline pretty heavily from last year. I don't see it happening, but it's not impossible.

I dunno, it could go either way, lets just hope it doesn't struggle like the 3DS is struggling now.

We're talking about 2013, not 2012. It's very possible for 360 sales to decine greatly next year, especially if Microsoft and/or Sony reveal new consoles. So the Wii U probably wouldn't need to be as popular as you suggest.

Right, got mixed up for a second. So really the Wii U should outsell the 360 next year, but you never know, Wii U could have a slow start in NA, 720 might not be coming out till 2014, 360 might still be doing very well... it's hard to say. Especially before the Wii U has even launched yet, before 2013 is even in sight. I'd say let's come back to this question in December.

I think that they will. Quote this and show it to me if it doesn't happen since I'm almost as bad at predictions as Pachter.

I don't think it will - there just doesn't seem to be much excitement for it. It's a polished Wii, but not new and shiny like when the first Wii came out.

Plus, I think the X360 will get a nice price break this year.
