Suuure... But the real reason they designed the game to be that was was control and trying to stop piracy. I can't really see why they couldn't have designed the game to have proper single-player too if they wanted, and it would probably have been just as good as this. Well, obviously it wouldn't have required us to be online all the time...

The reason is because PC gamers like to steal so much.

While the gameplay functions sounds good, I'm not interested in having a game running 100% of the time in the background of my PC while I try to pay bills and view porn.

This is probably a no buy for me now.

That is complete baloney, people in general like to "steal/copy" digital items.

Fact is, even this DRM model can and will be broken, it will simply be patched out someway, and it will happen quickly once the game is released, meaning ultimately the person who actually purchases their item will be forced to stay online to play a game even if its "single player".

they still make these games. I have'nt played a simcity game,since I was a wee lad. lol

That's a lame excuse. The game includes a multiplayer mode and because of that you have to be online even when playing single player? Screw that...

I think they have a small singleplayer mode to play around with, but the main game is social.
