Forums - Nintendo - what are nintendo devs working on

ANOTHER NINTENDO E3 THREAD...why not

so i am sure many people were disappointed with the lack of first party games at e3 with only pikmin 3,nsmu and ....nintendo land.god damn it

Now nintendo usually have thier main franchises at the 2nd year of thier console launch. We saw that with the wii where it was launched with tp and it was only in the second year where all the major games came in with Mario Kart,Smg and Smash Bros...which was delayed.

So which leads the question what are nintendo devs working on?

Sakurai's busy on smash bros,Aonuma just finished skyward Sword,Intelligent Systems is busy with the 3ds and I dont know much about ead since it has many divisions...

The only 3 devs which i think are totally free are retro,Monolith and Hal...

Retro and Monolith aren't free. Retro's working on an unannounced project for the Wii U, Monolith is working of project X Zone for the 3DS. 5 of Nintendo EAD's 7 divisions released a game last year, and 2 will release a game this year.

The main problem is that they don't have the capacity to release as many games as the industry wants. Even nowadays they outsource a lot of stuff that they could develop inhouse.

I posted this in another thread, but it's relevant here:

Monolith is probably working on 3 games right now, Project X Zone being one of them.  We saw this image quite a while ago on a computer screen at Monolith Soft:

To me it looks like one of the pre-rendered overworlds found in the Baten Kaitos games (compare it to that in the first game:http://www.rpgfan.com/pics/batenkaitos/ss-166.jpg ).  That suggests that they are currently making BK3.  I imagine that such an image (assuming it is the overworld) would be better suited for the 3DS, as if it were for the WiiU I would expect it in real time 3D; therefore I'm expecting they are working on a 3rd Baten Kaitos game.  If so, I would expect an announcement by the end of the year.

I'm also pretty sure that Monolith were advertising for staff to work on a WiiU game, suggesting one is in the works.  Given the critical and commercial success of Xenoblade Chronicles, and relative failure of Disaster, I for one hope that they pick what I consider the logical option to develop a HD open world RPG for the platform.

There is also the fact that they are well over due to announce a new game, Xenoblade released almost 2 years ago now.

We need Trestres back for this. Don't quite feel like taking this task on now

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

That's what I meant like they are free  to be working on a wii u game as retro is quiet since dk and plus monolith has 2 divisions.Only 1 is working on cross zone

Miiverse and only that.

Zelda team on the Zelda part of Nintendo land, Metroid team on the Metroid part of Nintendo land :P

Seriously, though, there are few hints, aside from the announced Wii U/3DS games the only hints come from Retro and Monolith, which have been discussed.

They are hard at work on Nintendo Land. That's what I got out of the E3 conference anyways.

I am sure they are not totally free Mootap!!!

Seriously though. It is hard to find leaks or information about what nintendo is working on. They should have showed a bit more at E3.

I would flip out if they made BK 3

Skyward Sword was finished almost a year ago, and if you think those developers have been taking a long vacation since then... well... then I chose the wrong profession in this industry. :P

Isn't there already a thread discussing this same topic - one that's been around for a year or two? Is that one no longer updated?
