Forums - Gaming - Official E3 rundown of Splinter Cell Blacklist

So Microsoft had a pretty good conference compared to the other 2. I suppose if entertainment outside of gaming aint your thing this E3 was pretty bad compared to previous years. But for me was one of the best. Smartglass was bloody awesome.

Anyways Microsoft came out with some great titles for 360 coming. Splinter Cell being one of those.

The animations looked great and the Execute system muc much better now. Really looks like Assisins Creed mixed with MGS.

Good to know its on its way and looks great by the way. Heres the media I can find so far.

Watch_Dog was better looking albeit running on Steroids but still. Also...what happened to the stealth? It's all set pieces now...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Agree Watchdogs was borderline nextgen ( Not Wii U, the real next gen ).

Its still stealthy, but Ubisoft have tried to still allow you to feel like te best killer in the world. Not like old Splintercells or Metal Gear Solid where your the best killer but move slow and are restricted alot.

While I want the stealth from the first 3 back, I'm definitely excited for this one!

I can see what you mean but I dunno, the set pieces and use of explosions have me feeling suspicious not to mention the ability to multi-kill enemies kinda defeats the purpose of stealth namely going in and out without leaving any trace.

Indeed, developers think gamers are to stupid for stealth. At least we still have Hitman...

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a multiplatform game: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/04/splinter-cell-blacklist-revealed-for-xbox/

So, I'll move this to Gaming Discussion.

Conviction had a similar system ( aleit not as advanced as this ) and trust me there were plenty of stealthy moments.

They've certainly abandoned any pretense of making Splinter Cell a stealth game, but perhaps that's not such a bad thing. Chaos Theory was fantastic, but it was largely reduced to sneak, go behind, grab, execute, repeat, occasionally fire an airfoil round.

I never did play Conviction, but I like this new look for the series.
