Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo had a good conference! Stop over-hyping ourselves!

I disagree.Back at E3 2006, Nintendo did a wonderful job unveiling the Wii, now they didn´t with the Wii U.

While it isn´t quite the ultra shitty E3 2008 conference, it comes damn close in my opinion, aggravated by the fact they were showing off a new console, and (again, in my opinion) it was terrible to see Lego, dancing and singing games and ports of 360/PS3 games used to that end.

Only NSMB and Pikmin 3 somewhat salvaged this conference, as far as I´m concerned.

Stop over hyping!?

ITS E3!!!!!!!! The wrestlemania/Superbowl of this this Industry

Were suppose to be over hyped!!!

I liked a lot of what they showed, though they ended somewhere I did not want them too, and perhaps that is what leaves the more negative impression. I stayed on watching the NintendoLand stuff and the other stuff and it looked good, fun for the target (of which I would be with a family and two children as well). I did want more, I wanted much more, but there is more to come. There is another conference tonight that will cover hardware aspects, and there are things coming that I know are coming.

I am primarily a PC gamer these days, infact my PC melts most other computers around, using 3x24 monitor setup at home, etc, etc, but the Wii U has me excited for the console again which I am happy to be. One of the greatest features? Playing that game on the tablet when the TV is occupied, that is absolutely the best and one of the biggest problems that occur when I want to get some time in on a game, now the kids get their stuff, the wife gets her stuff, and if I still feel like playing the Wii U, boom, no problem.

seriously I was expecting something from Retro

I'm happy with Pikmin 3 but we already knew it was going to be there . this is Nintendo's fault as they have spoiled us by having a surprise or two in their conferences

If Pikmin 3 is not a launch title then there is no reason for me to get the system day 1

Right. Part of the problem is that people (myself included) get it into our heads that one certain game will be shown, and however good or poor the conference is otherwise, if that one game isn't shown, it's all "ruined forever!" Like all the people bitching about the lack of Smash Bros when it was painfully clear that such wasn't coming.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I love how you typed "Stop overhyping ourselves!" then complain because they didn't show certain things. :p

Overall, I say the same can be said about other conferences as well.

Well yeah, I overhyped myself too! So I was left wanting more but it's not like I needed gameplay trailers or anything just confirmation of this and that and teases

Good conference?

The only thing I got out of it was the verification that the Wii u will be the first Nintendo console I won't be buying.

How unfortunate Nintendo is that you will not be buying :/

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

This is just covering your bases. If Nintendo's E3 had been everything you ever wanted, you would've have gladly accepted the overhyped-ness of Nintendo fans, maybe even become more overhyped yourself.

Did you actually watch the conference..?

Here's what you need to do. Watch Nintendo's 2006 E3 conference and compare it. End of discussion.

was it really that much better? It showed the same kind of stuff, expect the zelda and metroid, and the zelda was for the gamecube as well

Watch E3 2001. THAT'S how you introduce the world to new hardware. Great sequels, a new IP, and long list of AAA titles to look forward too.

I wasn't hyped at all. The conference still sucked. Suffice it to say that this is not how I would choose to launch a console, especially not if this was my second chance to do so.

My thoughts? your thoughts suck.

Nintendo had the most to prove and the energy going in and they took it nowhere. Theres a reason why no one cares about Batman or Mass Defect... They already came out and industry has moved forward and wont stop for a port.

Luckily they showed the Mario games and Pikman. Take that away what was Nintendo's E3 about? I cant believe Star Fox and Metroid weren't there..no new IP either. This wasn't just another E3 for Nintendo. This is a proper new Hardware presentation.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
