Forums - Gaming - WHERE ARE THE MEGATONS? I get monkey see, monkey do, but no Megatons!

The BS rumors of price cuts, streaming of PS2 content on the PS3, and other of the pre-E3 buzz is more excited than what I have see.  Any chance Nintendo will get Megatons?  What I am seeing is companies not surprising me at all.  It is boring.  Can consider competent, but nothing to excite.  Heck, the surprises are NO price cuts.  HUH?  Seriously, no price cuts?

All I see is, "Hey, company X is coming out with this, or has it, so we need it!"  It is to a place where people believing that consoles will really differentiate, EVEN in regards to exclusives on them, will end up being sadly disappointed.  Even the Wii U won't have the unique second screen to itself.

E3 is a disappointment because of a lack of surprise here for me.  I have to wonder what Nintendo will do.

the gen is ending, its too late for megatons.

Time for hype

I don't get why folks are expecting all these AAA new IP games in the 7th and 6th year this generation. Obviously MS and Sony will be saving their big new IP's for next generation. E3 2013 is where it's at for MS and Sony.

I think its the third party titles that people are waiting for from AAA wise.

I think honestly Sony and MS both have enough AAA titles announced despite being sequels/prequels/spinoffs or w/e.

Well I think third party, especially Ubisoft, is delivering quite well considering how late we are in this gen. There will be a lot of sequels, spinoffs, etc. going this late into the gen because I think no other generation has ever gone this long before without releasing new hardware, and that is where new IP's thrive the most.

That LBP racing wheel looks like megatons.

E3 this year has been shit so far, not even that much praiseworthy except for probably 2-3 games per show. Other than that alot of socialistic media crap being shove down gamers' throats.

I mean, as far as this year has gone, if you aren't a big fan of Ubisoft games, then this year is not for you. Specifically if you do not like Splinter Cell, Far Cry, or Assassin's Creed.

Not a fan of Far Cry or Rayman.

Splinter Cell looked interesting but never got into the series.

Love Assassin's Creed 3 and Liberation, barely got into the series less than 2 weeks ago l0l. Loving it so far and will be getting the PC versions soon, planning to get the PS3 version of III and Vita's Liberation.

I also love the Watch_Dogs game trailer, looks so amazing *-*

I'm the same way but the multiplayer in Far Cry 3 looked pretty compelling for me. I'm a big fan of Rayman Origins so I'm really excited for this one. Splinter Cell is a series I've never actually played (I've always wanted to but just never got around to it), Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite series so I'm super amped but for those who aren't probably hate how much hype it's getting this year, and Watch_dogs looks amazing to me as well.

My point was that Ubisoft have been some of the main highlights in the Microsoft (Splinter Cell) and Sony conferences (ACIII, Liberation, & FC3) and in all likelihood will be a big part of the WiiU conference tomorrow (thanks to ZombiU, Rayman Legends, Rabbid....something or another, Assassin's Creed 3, we are going to end up seeing something there at least).

You know, you do make a good point now that I think of it, looks like we can easily say Ubisoft saved both MS and Sony third party wise xD.

Cant wait to see how it works out tommorrow, I wonder if they will show case gameplay using the Wii-U's controller tommorrow in a different aspect of the game similar to what they showed in with the PS3 earlier.

I think its safe to say that Assassin's Creed III is the E3 2012 Showcase Game of the Year!

I would disagree.  Watch Dogs seemed to be more attention grabbing title in my opinion.

Could of at least got a price cut or some other news that would be newsworthy on the console front.  So will see how Nintendo is doing.

I am really surprised Sony didnt have a megaton.

Well they announced Wonderbook, but im not sure its what you guys were looking for.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

God of War Acension, The Last Of Us, Beyond Two Souls, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale....take your pick.

Wonderbook....how is that considered Megaton? Its utter garbage.

Those aren't megatons though.  They showed a new IP which was great for them, but everybody was expecting everything you mentioned with the exception of Beyond two souls
