Same thing will happen to all Big 3: the bar is set so high that nobody will meet expectations.

Question is whos gonna disapoint the least?

But also kinect is really proving itself. Many great core games have kinect functionality, its a powerhouse when navigating Xbox dash/Live, and now Internet explorer. And its great for parties.

Seems people hate on kinect because its trendy when it is in fact a runaway success and even catering to core gamers more then ever before.

THIS.

Overall I'd rate Microsofts Conference as a 5/10, not great, but quite watchable. For me, too many multiplatform games taking control of the show (Usher doing a hole song too >.>), they had a new Gears and they didn't show any gameplay in the conference!

Halo 4 wasn't on long enough for me either :( I would've liked to of seen some Forza gameplay as well. The multiplatform game for me (South Park), didn't even get a proper gameplay trailer :/

Lara Craft also lasted too long in its demo imo.

Could someone also tell me Alan Wake 2 was announced? Or was it just a rumour.

It was just a rumour in the end :(

Multiplatform(consoles) games on Xbox360 are somehow exclusive because it runs better.

2012, because they should have learned from the past.

Cod looks more of the same and i am dissapointed with RE6 -.-

Halo 4 looks gorgeous though. best graphics and game of the year.

Yeah man WTF happen with RE6? Looks like a 3rd person action game. What happen to survival horror? :'(

i dont know, the game seems forced. i rather wait 4 months for Dead Spaace 3 and Gears of War Judgment.

Changed the name of the thread.

And for future reference, if you are going to create a thread like this, your opinion does not belong in the title, it belongs in the OP.

Sorry my man. Hope we see some Sly 4 love soon.

I liked what I saw gaming wise. I'm sure Sony will show more games (30 apparently)... But all that has meant this generation is there will be a split between PS3 and Vita, then most of the games will not be that great when they ship, or sony will delay them, leaving 360 and PS3 with pretty much the same number of exclusives that any rational person would care about...

Don't believe me? Go to Metacritic, bring up the best scoring games for the whole generation from both PS3 and 360... And you you will notice that they pretty much have the same number of exclusives 85% or over. I counted 34 for PS3 and 29 for 360 (excluded DLC and timed exclusives)... That means that after 7 years of this generation, that the PS3 has out did the 360 by the MLB franchise (5 releases this generation) for quality exclusives..

Most of the best games are multi-platform now-a-days. And by the end of the year we will add the numbers up and it will still be pretty much a tie again. Gamers put too much stock in E3... In reality, E3 is a large commercial for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to try to brain wash consumers... Sony usually tries to hold their core gamers through their first/second party studio content, Nintendo tries to get non-gamers into the gaming world, and MS walks the line in the middle making no one happy. That is E3 every year for the past three in a nutshell.

Microsoft's E3 2012 is the worst E3 conference I have ever seen. I liked their E3 2011 because of the quality of multiplatform titles shown and the presentation was great, I thought it was better than Nintendo's. I don't remember their E3 2010 very well, but it had Rising (when it looked great) and the Xbox slim so that automatically makes it a fairly decent conference and much better than this years.

Overall I'd say 11 > 10 > 12.

There's been a shift in opinion on many issues this generation, especially to suit certain posters agendas with many people flip-flopping depending on the topic and how it relates to their console of choice.

Exclusives are the most important thing for me though, always have been. Sony, despite a year less on the market have continued to offer new IP's and invest in different and unusal projects with plenty of exclusive games always on the horizon. While multiplatforms are the biggest games for the HD consoles and form a huge part of my gaming catalogue, exclusives are what differentiates the consoles. I think Sony have shown this generation they are willing to continue to invest and experiment with new IP (I prefer new IP to sequels) and will provide a continued level of support over the years that in my opnion MS is just not offering.

I will go where the interesting exclusives and new IP's lie and next gen I think I'll be happy just to settle with then next PS at least to begin with, judging by Sony's continued level of support this generation. If MS had continued down the same road I'd have no choice but to pick up both.

In relation to the conference, this year was not as bad as last year. I can't really recall the conference from the year prior to that. Halo 4 looks fantastic, very impressive graphics and I like the change in direction it's taking, the franchise needed it. Ascend: New Gods actually looks interesting, although nodody seems to be talking about it. Everything else was a bit so-so. Dissapointed by the lack of new IP or a sequel announcment for Alan Wake 2.

I wil assume you mean EVER! among EVERY SINGLE COMPANY TO EVER DO AN E3 presentation.  How many have you atcually seen?  Seriously, you think Microsoft E3 2012 is worse than Nintendo 2008?

Or Konami 2010?

\

Or Sony's $599 PS3 E3?

Or heck Microsoft's 2010 one:

Reality?  I don't believe you have seen too many E3 presentations.

I remember putting in brackets "from 2009 onwards", must have been in another thread or maybe I accidently deleted it. Anyway, I've also seen a few before that, but only the odd one, none of the ones you linked in the videos.

EDIT: Oh, and it's obviously from the big three only.
