The Fall gaming season is almost over, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any big games left to come out. Two of the biggest franchises ever are about to release their next game and the first one up is Halo 4. When you look around for stores holding midnight release events, sometimes you don’t find many, if any at all, but it wasn’t hard to find some for Halo 4, with every major store staying up late for this one.

If more stores around the world announce midnight release openings for Halo 4 we will update this list.

USA - There are plenty of GameStop stores opening at 9pm for the launch of Halo 4. Click here to find out if your local store is participating.

Canada - GameStop stores across Canada are opening both at midnight and early the next day for the launch of Halo 4. Click here to find out if your local store is participating.

United Kingdom - No midnight release openings announced yet. For now, you’ll have to contact your local store for more details.

Australia - EB Games stores in Australia will be opening at both midnight and early the next day for Halo 4, but unfortunately they haven’t provided a list of stores participating yet. You can call your local store to ask in the meantime.

USA - There are a lot of Best Buy stores across the US opening at midnight for Halo 4. Click here to find out of your local store is participating.

Canada - The Best Buy store in Edmonton, on 19th Avenue NW, with be giving away one Halo 4 Xbox Console Bundle, 600 Halo themed Mega Bloks sets and more prizes and giveaways. All other Best Buy stores across Canada (except for Quebec and Sudbury) will be opening at 12:01AM for one hour, with free t-shirts for the first 50 people in line and free posters for the first 100. Click here for more info.

United Kingdom - No midnight release openings announced yet, but HMV stores in the UK typically do midnight release openings but they don’t advertise it as much as other stores. Contact your local store for more details for now.

USA - No midnight release openings announced yet.

USA - As the publisher of the game and makers of the Xbox 360, you know Microsoft Stores are going to hold midnight release events for Halo 4. The Scottsdale, AZ location is the only one to officially announce anything yet, but you can click here to find all the store locations and check your local store as it gets closer to launch.

Canada - Select Future Shop stores across Canada will be opening at midnight for Halo 4, with tournaments, prizes and giveaways. Click here to for all of the details and to see if your store is participating.

If you have pre-ordered the highly anticipated title ‘Halo 4′ then you are not alone. Reports are coming in that the series has reached the 46 million mark, making it one of the most successful franchises of all time.

46 million copies of Halo games have already been bought according to GameStop. Those sales include all the Halo series titles and spin-offs since the first game debuted in 2001. With $3 billion in sales, Microsoft has struck gold and an important chord with hardcore gamers, making one of the best series in gaming.

Halo 4 is shipping out in just a matter of days and with pre-orders and limited editions selling out in major online retailers, that number is only going to get higher. Halo also has an impressive line of toys, books, collectables and more, all of which are not included in the final totals. $3 billion in just games, that’s something that ever developer and publisher dreams of when they get into the gaming industry.

Gamespot posted some impressive launch day stats about the series stating:

Microsoft went on to break down the launches of past entries in the franchise, stating first-day sales of Halo 2 hit $125 million, with Halo 3 notching $170 during its first day, and Halo: Reach besting that game with more than $200 million in sales during its first 24 hours.

The limited edition of Halo 4 has been sold out online for weeks but you can still pre-order the game or the Xbox 360 Limited Edition console on major sites like Amazon.
