Nintendo does deserve these barbs, because for the most part they are true. Nintendo doesn't generate a mature library, and before anyone gives me some argument that mature means shlock. Mature simply means a game that is made for adults to play, and that doesn't just equal out to gratuitous sex and violence. It applies to things like the contents of a story, or the way characters interact.

Nintendo does dial in uninspired reiterations of the previous generations games. The innovation is damned near nonexistent, and it shows in their presentations. They don't talk up the game, because there really isn't anything new to get really excited about. Hell even as their latest console slipped into the domain of purely being a toy. They didn't take any bold moves to change that. So now they are looked at as a toy company rather then as a serious player.

You gotta understand that Nintendo doesn't get any respect, because it doesn't deserve respect. Nobody expects a great turn around from Nintendo. The reason being that these same complaints have been thrown at Nintendo for over a decade, and it still hasn't seemed to have sunken in for Nintendo. They can't do the things that they have been doing, and be taken as credible. How can anyone be expected to have a fire in their belly for Nintendo. When Nintendo doesn't seem to have a fire in its own.

Mediocrity gets ignored, and disparaged.

You tried to make ellaborated trolling, but the content of your post makes me wonder if you´ve been living in a cave in the last 6 years only playing PS2.  You and "G4 audience"are tottally missing the point of today´s gaming market background and consumers, what makes me wonder if you (they) are really gamers or just Sony/MS lobbyists

I don't see how people can say Nintendo doesn't innovate. Look at Super Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword. Same franchise, different formula.

There is a difference with not being excited and what G4 is doing.


G4 is commenting on how they might not be blown away by the Wii U, that the Mario kart/starfox demo might be akward, or that the Wii U needs more "mature" games. While the community here calls them a bunch of idiots and states that they are horrible journalist, I have to agree with Ji99saw.

You need to really think about why people are posting something before you comment on it.  People on here aren't posting anything anti-Kinect or CoD, they are making the point that G4 will hate on a product for being a Nintendo product and site reasons that they will not apply to other companies.

For instance, they may think the Wii-U controller is a gimmick, and that no one wants to play games with anything other then a standard controllers.  They will then gush over how great some Kinect game is.

Same thing with Call of Duty, they will slam Star Fox (which hasn't had a console sequel in 7 years) for being another sequel instead of something new.  They will then get really excited for another CoD game, even though it is close to a yearly franchise.

You understand?

I'm pretty sure that was their main marketing point.  A console the whole family (including adults) can play.  

I wouldn't want to be caught playing video games with my family. That's so shameful and makes me look like a child.

They were right about the painfully awkward part. That pre show was just filled with them.

Also over $250 is suicide? Is this guy serious? PS4 and 720 will definitely cost more than that. Might as well start ringing bells claiming console gaming is dead at launch.
