Forums - Nintendo - Gearbox: Nintendo has listened to Wii U feedback, controller specs will “be awesome”

Nintendo Everything

Third-party Wii U developers have made it clear that Nintendo has been fielding feedback on the console. Better than this, though, is that the Big N actually seemed to listen.

Gearbox Software art director Brian Cozzens told Nintendo Gamer that he feels “we’ll see some cool stuff that we’ve had some influence over.”

Cozzens also believes that “the final controller specs are going to be awesome.”

He said:

“We were early in seeing what was happening with the Wii U and we’ve been able to give some feedback. They’ve listened, and I think we’ll see some cool stuff that we’ve had some influence over. I think the final controller specs are going to be awesome.”

I cant wait to see the final controller. I am guessing dual touch capabilities is just one thing that's a no brainer. Nintendo is going to make the tablet controller as unique and amazing as possible!

Well according to the info we had before, the tabled controller was going to have no internal guts and instead got it's power from the console.

If the tablet actually has "specs" such as ram and a gpu then then this is a big change.

I'm an advocate for motion controls, Nintendo, and Kicking freaking Toad to the Moon!

Wow, that's quite a good idea. More Console Makers should do this, it would make the Devs feel better about making games for their console because they had some input on it. *Claps for Nintendo.*

Sony has been doing this since the original PlayStation. Its not always good hence Vita something made with 3rd parties specifically in mind but then they dont support hard enough.

I guess it's all up to how it comes out. Hopefully these Devs had some good opinions.

That's not going to happen. Unless Nintendo wants to compete with its own 3DS.

i don't think "specs" has to mean ram or a gpu.

i'm thinking more like the full analog to replace the analog nubs.  perhaps the support for two wii U tablets is true. new form factor. things like that.

I wish the tablet had multitouch, but I don't think it's possible with that sort of screen technology (from what I've heard).

well multi-touch is technically possible with a resistive screen but not very practical.  you have to press fairly hard which either means pushing hard with a finger (read: uncomfortable) or use a stylus.  i'm not sure too many people could work with a stylus in each hand.

...but there is nothing that states nintendo couldn't move to capacitive  technology.  it costs more but still something they could do.
