I used FRAPS and Windows Movie Maker in the past. What do you suggest?

So there is nothing better than Fraps?

I'm quite sure I've tried Sony Vegas already, didn't like it very much. It was not as intuitive as I had hoped... Sorry for sounding spoiled! It was years ago I used it, I though software might have changed by now :)

yeah Windows Movie Maker is pretty crappy for editing anything.

Fraps is indeed among the best you can get. Recording works flawlessly and you get uncompressed video data in full resolution.

I've used Sony vegas and Adobe software in the past, both good, but way over my head and maybe yours to. Steep learning curves. For basic editing use Wax.

Wax looks interesting. Does it work properly with HD? Can I remove the sound from a clip and replace it with other sounds?
