Forums - PC - Shockwave Flash keeps crashing my PC

For some reason, Flash keeps crashing my PC. I think it's because I switched to Chrome. I start watching a video on youtube or any website that uses flash heavily and the whole machine will freeze visually, the mouse will still work and so will the audio but the visual will either freeze completely or start to twitch.

Only way to fix it is to try to bring up task manager to kill the internet or switch to another user which doesn't always work mind so I have to restart.

Since I plan to watch Gametrailer's continous feed of E3, I see this problem getting worse so...any suggestions?

Run Chrome. In the address bar, type about:plugins in the address bar. After you press enter you’ll be greeted with a list of all the plug-ins installed in Chrome (this is different than user-installed Extensions). Look down the list of plug-ins for the Flash entry. If the entry looks like Flash (2 Files) there is a very good chance the source of your Flash-related crashes is a conflict between the two. disable the internal version and keep the one for the host OS’s installation

How do you know which is your "internal"?

Rubbish, it's still crashing.

I know it's a generic solution that usually doesn't work, but uninstall then reinstall standalone Flash, or uninstall then reinstall Chrome.

If you can't fix it then you can switch Youtube to HTML5 video and just not use Flash elsewhere. There are few sites that require Flash outright. For the things like that gametrailers, have IE or something else as a backup you can use just for Flash. I have four browsers installed and there have been plenty of times where I've tried each and only one works for a certain website.

Yes, I'm thinking of switching back to IE for E3
