Yes. I liked Maxwell, but I do agree that a couple of his bannings were questionable. However, I don't know if Maxwell was the one who banned Kylie for his negative opinions. Wouldn't be surprised if he was though.

They weren't questionable, they were just plain wrong and disgraceful. And im sure that even some other mods would agree that he overstepped

(had this one like twice) Lack of 3rd party support Lack of Monhun and the death in Japan why did sony bother etc etc etc are any of these made by concerned owners or fans of the system? No. Just trolls and those threads are filled with them as well. We had some trying to do the same in the official thread but thankfully mods deleted those posts or that thread would be derailed as well. We talk of both the good and the bad things of Vita in the thread like grown ups and without snide remarks. And people enjoy this. The mere fact the so called gamers in this site do nothing more than complain and troll about even new hardware shows you how shitty this place has become. And this will continue too. The more the ninty fans and ms fans troll, the same will be done when their turn comes. Wiu is launching and I expected a similar result with that as well. It's never going to end. I have secluded myself to vita discussion in the OT for that reason. If users ever find the thread to be not useful or fun, I will myself ask a moderator to close the thread and I will leave this site for good. I have tried to be a good sport about things. I have shown support for good kinect games and I have done the same for 3ds. Sadly I don't see this place as a good place for gaming discussion for anything sony anymore. blah why am I even bothering with this...I'm done. I have made it perfectly clear my stance on the whole situation. |
At least one of those threads was a FattyDingDong. It's almost to be expected of him, which is to say it indicates no specific ill-will towards the Vita
You're really refusing to see the bad for 3DS, too. The MGS game for 3DS was lambasted endlessly for being pointless compared to the MGS HD collection.

Exactly! I actually like a lot of Spurge's threads and think that he has gotten much better at excercising self control when it comes to making them. Unfortunately, I cannot say that I care for many of the other recent threads on this site...

I would add that while i don't use the official Nintendo thread, i do approve of it, because it does work to bring in smaller posts that likely otherwise wouldn't be thread-worthy, and anything thread-worthy can be spun off into its own discussion at the discretion of anyone who cares to try. Like that Metroid x StarFox rumor (though that originally surfaced in the official Wii U thread) we had quite a few pages of discussion on that rumor in that thread, so it could have been spun off into its own discussion if it didn't quickly become clear that the rumor was fake.
I am in the camp that believes the problems here are structural and cyclical. Structural in part because of too much website subdivision and the removal of sales tools, and cyclical because yes, it is the end of the generation. And the reason that impacts our site more severely than other gaming sites is because we are sales oriented, so once patterns have set in, people are going to care less about a site that specializes in sales. Spam threads have always been an issue, just that there used to be much more "legitimate" activity to counterbalance it.
