Probably doesn't mean anything, but it's cool that the X360 version of Battlefield 3 is only 80 units behind the X360 version of MW3.

It will be interesting to see those two franchises compete in the future.

Funny how you say that PS3 is "only" 7k ahead of the 3DS this week, yet you mention the lower PS360 gap from last week to this week which is ironicly only ~3k.

I don't know how being 7k ahead of the next console (handheld) is "truly dominating" but ok...I'd say PC dominated this week. More software for one game than all other gaming systems all games combined :O


Handhelds always sell more than consoles. That is a fact.

This week we got the PS3 ON TOP of the 3DS.

PS3 is #1, it IS dominating considering its been on top of the 360 all year and now even overtook the 3DS.

Is it? No, it really isn't...

NDS - 151mil+
Wii -  96mil+

PSP - 74mil+
360 - 66mil+

Gameboy - 118mil+
SNES - 49mil+

Gameboy Advance - 81mil+
PS2 - 153mil+

All leading handheld devices have outsold the leading console in their generation. The only exception is the PS2 which sold almost double what the Gameboy Advance did.

Because like someone else said pretty soon there will be negative amounts of PS3 units on shelves according to Vgchartz numbers. The console was at some point clearly overtracked, or 360 was undertracked. Official shipments confirm this.

PS3 shipmente was low (1.9m) due to the impact of the flooding in Thailand... Sony shipped less than market needs... so the number of units on shelves is low.

Not really. It's unlikely that the PS3 will catch up to the 3DS' numbers come August, even if it isn't adjusted down, and August we have NSMB2. So the gap will grow by a good 2-3million before we even hit the holiday season, where it'll pull out another million or two. Even more if MH4 is released. Come year's end, the PS3 will likely hit 11-12mil, and the 3DS 15-16mil. And the PSV on 5-6mil, for reference.

I don't think that'd do it, especially since it's impossible. I doubt there's millions of people waiting for a PS3 like there are people waiting for 2D Mario on the 3DS.  

Alright. They could give away Vita's with every game sale I suppose. But let's say something 'feasible' which they could do!
