PS3 is truly dominating this week. Of course people will ignore this and say "poor sales for everything". You know who you are :)
Hopefully the PS3 can keep it up and stay at #1.

Pretty cruddy numbers, but what did we expect? The only big new games so far this year have been Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy 13-2, and Mario Party 9. And it's been five months!
I keep on forgetting how slow much of the year is.

Eh? Don't forget the one that's far bigger than any of those |
Diablo 3, of course! Doi! But those don't exactly help any of the hardware numbers, so it slipped my mind.
So why hasn't PS3 been adjusted yet?
Because like someone else said pretty soon there will be negative amounts of PS3 units on shelves according to Vgchartz numbers. The console was at some point clearly overtracked, or 360 was undertracked. Official shipments confirm this.

Indeedability. VGChartz need to start tracking PC sales :O |
The problem is, I like VGChartz's focus on pure gaming machines. You start counting PCs, you then have to move on to laptops, tablets, phones, and pieces of looseleaf paper just because all of them can play games.
Peeps pretending PS3 did amazing despite only being 7k ahead of the 3DS and the gap between the PS3 and 360 is lower than last week lol, you know who you are.

Vgchartz:Week ending 31st March PS3 63.47 million
Sony shipment numbers at the end of march 63.9 million
Tight supply for sure but still entirely possible. If the same happens next quarter also then the chances for overtracking will become fairly big. Also if I remember right Sony blamed Thai floods for undershipping last quarter (still affecting their supply chain). Not to mention that we got European data from Nintendo so all consoles should be fairly spot on there (the usual blackhole in vgchartz data).
Nice week for a slow period. PS3 and XB360 have a very nice small boost thanks to Max Payne, PS3 now is first weekly, outselling 3DS again.
Even PSV stops falling and grows a little.
Impressive PC SW sales, thanks to Diablo III.
PC gaming is dead. We all PC gamers are obviously undead gamers. =8-O

PS3 shipmente was low (1.9m) due to the impact of the flooding in Thailand... Sony shipped less than market needs... so the number of units on shelves is low.

I don't know how being 7k ahead of the next console (handheld) is "truly dominating" but ok...I'd say PC dominated this week. More software for one game than all other gaming systems all games combined :O |
Handhelds always sell more than consoles. That is a fact.
This week we got the PS3 ON TOP of the 3DS.
PS3 is #1, it IS dominating considering its been on top of the 360 all year and now even overtook the 3DS.
