This was quite funny. I think you should go back and view some posts and topics around the tiimes you are saying everything flopped. (Seriously, Killzone 2 and Uncharted 1 exceeded pretty much everyone's expectations as nearly all thought KZ2 was going to suck)

Uncharted 1 was considered a huge Flop until U2 came out and generated tons of buzz. People went back and bought Uncharted 1.

It wouldnt be close to its current sales if U2 didnt improve so much and get so much GOTY awards.

That's a complete lie. Uncharted 2 was released in October of 2009 and the first Uncharted had already sold over 2.5 million at that point. After that it sold well based off Uncharted 2 and bundling (but bundling was the primary boost). So, the majority of sales were already achieved by the time Uncharted 2 had released and the bundle was bigger factor to its great legs.

Well Uncharted was considered a flop though selling horrible the first weeks it was launched. It simply had legs and that was unexpected for most of the vg crowd then.

Uncharrted launched on a console with a 6 million unit install base or somewhere around that number... what can people expect? It wasn''t going to sell a million copies week one.... it was going up against the mega hyped ASSASSINS CREED that launched that same time period on PS3, and Uncharted wasn't even close to as hyped as Assassins Creed..... Uncharted was just a new ip hyped as much as..... Motorstorm was maybe... but Heavenly sword was hyped the most that year as an exclusive.... and it really fell short criticly... yet sold over a million copies..

Also, PLAYSTATION HOME is a SUCCESS, at least that it has made sony a lot of REVENUE.... and probably a lot of profit(should be an article around saying HOME was making a lot of money for sony), HOME is consistently growing... in both content, quality, and user base..... It''s probably going to be even bigger next gen if sony really push it.... but truely, HOME does offer something that nothing on any other console currently offers.... and it's not that bad, it shouldn't really be getting such a bad rep from a small group of core gamers....

Gears of war sold 600 k first week on a console with like what 6-8 million userbase?  People expected the same for Uncharted and it ended up with 30k first week...      Yes people called it an flop.

No one in their right mind expected the same from Uncharted... and it was called a FLOP, GEARS OF WAR launched on a console that was about to hit it's prime, and was advertised almost as much as the PS3 LAUNCH was adverstised on television.... GEARS OF WAR was hyped up almost as much as HALO was when that launched on XBOX, Uncharted wasn't hyped at all..

The problem with people you see, is that they're idiots.

I remember people on this site who were considered smart predicting it to not reach 1M copies sold. Vgchartz as a whole was ignorant to how games sold over their lifespan. Critisizing the first week in America which was because of a broken street date was just trolling though.

It was nearly at a million after 10 weeks on the market. Surely, it's not Gears of War successful, but I doubt any sane person expected that.

Lol. Last time my sister went to ps home. She was being sexually harrased by male gamers.

So... you can continually talk about its financial success. But it will never be a healthy social game. As it was meant to be.

Dont even let me start on loading issues. LMAO

Yay!!!

I think the key for home is Trophies

imagine getting Trophies in a game and being able to buy things in home with the Trophies

I think Home should be the main reason why people grind hard for Trophies besides bragging rights

that shit would be crazy if they did it

yea that is a problem

I basically had a thread talking about this specifically

I think i have the best solution to Home's true success

I think your really overstating the failures of Sony's studio's here, up until about late 2008, I would've agreed they were letting Sony down, but they aren't that bad. At this point, only Japan Studio is a bit of a let down with the Last Guardian (I say bit as they are making Gravity Rush and made the PSP games) imo
