Forums - Nintendo - An EX Midway employee claims nintendo used his Technology to make the Wii.

Right now I don't have a link to the story but I'll get one soon.

This story was reported not too long from now on Fox News. It's about a former Midway employee named Patrick goschy (I would have never gotten that name right) that claims to have several patents for his inventions that he created during his time as a game developer for Midway. One of these patents included a very wii like device where he had video proof that it was indeed made well before the wii existed *8 years to be exact*. Since I don’t have a link right now I’m going to try a recall what happed:

In this said video was him demonstrating his invention with a prototype boxing game similar to wii sports. He seemed very enthusiastic about the invention and was confident he would bring it out in the near future.

Edit4: I have the real link now check it out if you're interested.

Now guys what do you make of this. It seems legit to me, although the second time I saw this it had some Similarities to the Wii but it didn’t look all that much like it... Ok nowhere near it sorry but it's a prototype so I don't no. And to throw salt on the wound Nintendo proved that they were indeed working on the Wii idea before the GCN launched.

Edit: I haven't looked at the official report yet but I assume I got most of the Early information correct.

Who cares....

He should of brought it out earlier.if he really did made it..

ex.
its like i was going to play the lottery with the numbers 22 33 21 2 4 13, but didnt.. then the next day,The same numbers came out..i should of play those numbers,But i forgot to play..So now im going to tell everyone that i won..but didnt..

LOL... oh well I doubt Nintendo copied this guy though. Most likely just a good design that was just waiting for it's day in the sun.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I'm not making this up guys, I'm shocked that fox doesn't have the story up yet when they were the ones who did the reporting.

So this is now how many people that try to cash in on Nintendo success..?

Crap I just notice that some letters are in caps, let me make this clear this is not a joke post. There is no hidden message behind it.

Any successful product will attract lawsuits. Look at all the leeches that crawl out of the woodwork to sue Apple. That's just the nature of the IP system today.

these patent idiots are always going after the company with the most money... what a giant crock. I mean come on its getting just wierd with all these people claming they made this or that and nintendo stole there idea. Its a REMOTE CONTROLE, not some future age stick that no one ever had the idea for... Stupid people just looking to get rich quick is all this is.

"Leap ignorantly to the defense of wealthy game company’s, who don't know or care about you!"

The big problem is that the patent office has rubber stamped so many terrible broad patents. Patents used to protect inventors. But now they are used as offense/defense in court battles.

He also claims that as soon as he starts to presenting it to midway he claimed they basically said {we own your invention/vision} and 5 months afterwards they fired him.

I'm bad with names though so I'll wait for the link to pop up on their site before I mention anyone’s name.
