I class myself as a bit of a hardcore gamer, i have played all genres of games on a vast variety of consoles over the years which brings me to the Wiis casual friendly games. The one good thing about my Wii over the past few years is that it actually got my wife interested in my hobby, which prompted me to buy her Wii fit, Zumba, Just dance etc to keep her occupied whilst i enjoyed my Xenoblades of this world. Being a good husband i would occasionally participate on such games with her and actually found myself.....enjoying them. Be it making a tit out of myself on Just dance or trying to beat my high scores on the Wii fit mini games, i never thought id see the day i would actually play such a game let alone enjoy it. Anyways has there been any Wii owners that have secretly enjoyed any casual games on the Wii but consider yourself a serious gamer?? come on own up!

The term hardcore has to be the stupidest thing about gamer culture as if the gamer culture itself isn't stupid enough, but really every game is fun if it's fun , it doesn't matter if it's girly/kiddy/"casual" ...ect,  a good game is a good game, I play bejeweled and Tetris sometimes when I feel like It, also play graphic novels and agatha christie spin offs and board games, it's stupid to limit yourself to something, you are just ruining yourself , I always picture the "hardcore gamer" as a douchebag, even though experiencing different genres of gaming is the bigger part of my daily life, yes I love pokemon , skyrim , dues ex , ARMA, starcraft, witcher wii fit , wii sports Mario party , dynasty warriors, rock band , fruit ninja and cut the rope , watcha going to do about it?

as you can see from my thread im not a person that takes myself seriously, i will play just about anything before i fashion an opinion on it. To me a hardcore gamer (hate that term too) is someone who will play anything on any system and just enjoy games.My point being is that nowadays gaming culture sadly is as much about image,graphics and brand loyalty and somehow the fun factor has been lost.Pulluspardus you have hit the nail on the head gaming is supposed to be FUN! but there is some people who wouldnt be seen dead playing a Wii fit or even a Nintendo game for that matter for fear of being labelled a casual or a kid and that just a shame really. I am really interested to see what comments people make and wether people will actually own up to liking these types of games. The general feeling i get when i read these types of forums is casual games are somewhat frowned upon, yet casuals have as much right to have games made for them as a FPS fanatic.

i enjoyed a lot wii sports resort, its great, i would give it 9 out of 10, and i dont think its casual by the way...so no, ive never enjoyed a casual game...well ive played CoD, doest it count?
