So with THQ's recent financial statement and announcements regarding the release of several games. I then wrote an article on an IP that is often credited with THQ's colossal financial failure a year or so ago. This IP could be a gold mine and I explore the reasons it is worth revisiting as well as why it failed. Just what potential can be found in uDraw? Check out the full article here http://wp.me/p2ozZL-7s

I suggest a WiiUDraw release, UDrawn To Life (3DS) and uDraw mobile iOS/Android. What do you think of the IP's potential

Why do you suggest this? The Wii U already has a tablet that you can draw on. Are you saying that you just want them to make the game? I am pretty sure there will be several different avenues that nintendo will implement itself to let you draw stuff and play drawing games on the Wii U.
U Draw on the 3DS makes even less sense.

this, just this. end thread

I get what you are saying and there is some validity. The Udraw series could work well on Wii U and 3DS where THQ itself doesn't need to make the hardware (they are still sitting on 1.4MILLION! units). They could simply make the game. It has some potential. Being the first to market with this type of game on Wii U will likely be very successful.

However some of your suggestions are very odd. Mario Udraw? Why? What possible advantage would that be to Nintendo? The Udraw license isn't strong, if they wanted to make a drawing game it would be cheap and easy and they wouldn't have to share the money with THQ. Generally speaking allowing other companies to touch mario has been because it was mutually beneficial. Mario and Sonic in one game? That's a double money maker.

A mobile version at $5 or $3? How would it compete with Drawsomething?

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

lol actually the fact that THQ wouldn't be making the tablet means a lot less to worry about financially. Also I'm not that sure Nintendo will have a drawing program on WiiU at launch, PictoChat maybe. The IP makes as much sense on 3DS as Drawn to Life ever did on DS. The IP sold 2 million copies for Wii and more then a million on DS. So yes I see the IP as valuable. Even a digital release would be smart, but the IP is definitely worth returning to. If you read the article you see that it could be used on mobile devices as well. Yes I know there are drawing apps on iOS but that doesn't mean uDraw couldn't turn a profit. If THQ acquired the Mario Paint IP from Nintendo they could make an even more successful game.

I just want to throw out the fact that THQ is adamantly sticking to their core guns (core franchises) and have no plans for any more casual releases. It's and interesting plan... and we'll see how well that works. Don't expect any UDraw games to be popping up.

The uDraw failed for a reason. Let it stay dead, If they resurrect that then Nintendo might as well erectness the virtual boy.

If you read their current earnings report, youd see they sold thru 84% of their Udraw stock and plan to have it gone by the end of this fiscal year (Mar 2013), they shipped 130k this past quarter.  They dont have 1.4 mil in stock.

UDraw was a good concept for the Wii. But rather than fully exploiting that market, THQ tried to reach all consoles. The result was red ink.

THQ lost so much money on uDraw they better leave it dead.

THQ's team was not entirely shut down. They retained some of the uDraw team. I cant remember how many if I'm correct it was like 15-20. They want to establish IP that will be financially massive, the fact they didn't fully lay off the team. I've got to wonder why? I still think uDraw is an exploitable IP, it is a powerful IP. The fact it never ended up in the dump. The hardware is actually selling, THQ could milk the IP. THQ needs every possible revenue stream!
