ok, crisis adverted... he will play Zelda again. :) After a short nap, he came out of his room in a much better mood. We talked again and he will start again. Thank god, I thought I'd lost him for a second there.

Weren't you the one who lost a Child to CoD Syndrome?

I don't even play CoD nor do I know what CoD Syndrome is.

Final Fantasy VII

I clocked about 40 hours into it and one day for christmas I asked my parents for Gameshark for christmas (for those who don't know what this is, you basically get this memory card thingy and pop it in the PS and you get cheats for pretty well every game.) Anyway I decided to try some cheats in Final fantasy VII, when I activated one you know what it did? deleted my save file...I was pissed! I do believe this happened a second time but with less hours.

I didn't play it for another year or two and decided to give it another try.

The absolute worst save file loss I ever had was with The Last Remnant. I had about a 110 hour save file, right before completing the final dungeon. I had done every quest, and was fighting option content. I had the optional super final boss unlocked. So I went to save my game and the power went out. So the save file corrupted and I lost all the work. I raged for about 2 weeks, and then replayed the entire game to complete about a 2 hour section.

Worth it though. Still my favorite game of the gen, even with its problems.

This was the point where I started saving my game twice so it would not happen again.

Oh yeah, that was someone else. Forget I was ever here~~~....

I can't remember. I know it sucked though as i have since learned from that mistake. After other mistakes/glitches too. But now I always save any save in a new spot and once all the spots are filled I start at the top and go over the saves. If it has unlimted saves I will just keep making new ones. It sucks to lose progress.

I was like 12 years old and I had the PS. So I borrowed that Aliens game from a friend and when saving there was an option called "format"....My English wasn't very good as you can imagine, so I thought..."sounds good, I guess"...Well, the rest is history. I lost a near perfect Gran Turismo file, Crash 3 with everything unlocked and I don't remember further...That wasn't nice you fucking alien :)

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Not a loss of a file, instead my own inability to remember to save a game. I was playing Mass Effect all day, I was having too much fun, and forgot to save periodically (for some reason I didn't enable autosave before playing). At about 9:00 am the power went out and I lost everything from that day. Apparently the blackout was caused from a large bird pooping on a transformer.... >_> I will find that bird someday.

about 80 percent through Final Fantasy 3 DS, my save file got f***ed up. Graagh. I restarted though because it was awesome, then played FF IV right after.

I would say Metroid Prime 2, but I later got around to replay the entire thing (which was much more enjoyable than I expected), so instead I will say Pokémon Blue.

I still miss my Poliwrath :'(

I think I already told that story a few times.

My Pokemon Silver save with 333 hours on it became corrupted. I had 248 Pokemon of 251...
