I don't agree with you and you think you can be rude and disrepectful. It's called a debate. As soon as you start to be rude then things change and it's no longer a civil debate. So suddenly sales figures, processor size and product specifications are opinion. I can be rude and disrespectful? From the man who started it all is very rich. I made a joke about you being Doogle and you flipped out and called me pretentious, my post was full of wrong, started making up things I never said and so then I replied with the like lol. I thought someone with Doogle as an avatar would be able to take a joke, but that wasn't the case. At that time I didn't realise you were Dr. Doogle, serious M.D.

Although you actually won't stop debating, you just want to try and have the last word without having to deal with any of the facts. Your entire point is simply: ''It worked for the PS1 and PS2 therefore it it is impossible to not happen again, oh and even though the PSP is actually the more recent example it doesn't count because err.......'' Which as I showed, is a ridiculous stance to take. You still haven't bothered to address the sales differences, problems with shrinking down the ps3, refused to accept the PS3 slim was actually a slim, why you expect 3rd party support to INCREASE for the PS3 after the next gen systems are out etc etc

You said that the PSP wouldn't reach it's 10 year plan and that the 10 year plans was nonsense. And that 10 year plans are nonsense and only fools believe in them yadda yadda.

I agreed with you multiple times that PSP will not make 10 years because of unforseen troubles like piracy and very poor software sales (which lead to poor 3rd party support. No games equal death). What I do not agree with is that the 10 year plan is nonsense  when Sony have proven that they can do it with the PS1 and PS2. You then discredit that by saying market let them do it so it doesnt count. What!

I make a comment about slimming the console further and reducing the price to keep up the sales in the future. Then you like duuuhh slim is already here and they just had a price cut so don't expect a price cut soon. Well first off I know there won't be a price cut soon, thats why I said when sales slow down they will price cut. It's common practice.

Now this is just my opinion. I think the consoles will be slimmed again. A few reasons. The PS3 phat was was to much to produce, they were struggling to get the production costs down so I think they wanted to do a redesign (basically what the launch console should of been). The slim isn't actually that slimmer and it was released less than 3 years after its launch when the PS1 and PS2 were slimmed after 4-5 years. Also it's never been officailly called the slim by sony, im not talking about retailers but the company that made it. Ok call me stupid if you want and if the size of the console is sole dependant on the size of the cell then maybe it's impossible. I don't know much about what it takes to slim a console. But anyway thats my opinion.

When I try to tell you that Sony have had its 2 best years of 14M a year. Before that was like 13M 10M 8M or something like that. To try and explain PS3 is improving yearly, SW and HW wise you try and make out the console sales are starting to deep with a few months of NPD data. Can you not see how stupid that is? 1 region a few months. No anaysis can predict this years sales off of a few months data from 1 region so why do you try to make out its on the decline.

And then you say about PS3 competiting with 720, ps4 and wii u. Guess what, they haven't been announced and are probably a few years away (edit: except wiiu). By then PS3 will be cheaper, PS3 will be in it's karting years (more family orientated) so little johnnys mum will with up a cheap console for little johnny to play with. Ans sony being sony will still release hardcore games to please older gamers. Console £100 to £150 + games for kids + games for adults = consoles shifting. It's a model that was used before and worked. And will no doubt be used again. This will take it somewhere near it's 10 years.

Saying PS3 was doomed I was clearly exagerating. You know, to get a point across. I also didnt say PS3 will reach 10 years foe but I think my opinion is more justified and gave better reason than "but but its not selling as well as PS1 and PS2" "But but npd, npd says so". Developers will still support PS3 and 360 for that matter next gen. Do you think they will ignore the huge install base for the smaller one on next gen consoles. They will most likely release the games on last gen and next gen at the same time, like what developers did this and last gen. Don't act like when the next gen consoles come out, next year or 2014, that all support will holt. It won't. They can't afford to ignore the 100 million plus install bases of the PS3 and 360.

Wii's third party support collapsed in 2010 because 3rd party games didnt sell well. The same can't be said for PS3. 3rd party games thrive. Hense they will keep supporting it. Even with the wiis death of third party support 2 years ago. It still sells well. not great but well. So when 3rd party support does dry up, PS3 will probably still have a bit of life in it.

Now can you see that I'm following the trends with my opinion while you are trying to predict your own trends. O you did use a few fact. NPD data and the development of the cell being halted. So I applaud you for that. *clap* f##king *clap*

But I'm waiting for you and your logic to magically whip up something new. Maybe 720 is releasing tomorrow and MS is paying all the developers for excluisive or or a comet is going to hit the earth and wipe us all out.

This means more PSP games for me to choose from from my local Gamestop. Good.

You: Of course they can they did it twice before.

You: I have no idea about these issues but you are wrong, there will be another ps2 slim like redesign (which would be a further 50% reduction under your logic Fyi since the PS3 slim is apparently not slim but just the PS3. Would love to see them manage a 50% size reduction on an existing 33% reduction when the CPU is still drawing the same power)

Me: You really think it will get more support when next gen starts?
You: Yes of course why would they ignore such a big install base? (So why aren't people still supporting the PS2, DS, PSP etc?)
Me: When Wii U arrives and soon 720 and PS4, support will decrease.
You: No it won't, besides all 3 are a FEW years away (Wii U is this year, PS4 and 720 are next year, that's not a few (3-4) years.

If you are wondering btw PS3 sales are practically flat this year in Japan compared to last year. Only it had a considerable price cut in August last year so this years results will end up much worse than last years once we hit August and there is no price cut this year, and then the Wii U launches. It is inevitable that PS3 sales will be down this year.

Your entire point still seems to simply be that because with two consoles, released more than 10 years ago, Sony could stay on the market for 10 years. That inevitably the PS3 and all future consoles will also be supported for a minimum of ten years. Anytime I point out that it's a different market you just try and shift the conversation. 

Whereas the simple matter of the fact is your own admission that the PSP won't make the 10 year mark 100% proves my point. Sony can't guarantee it. When they talk about it, it is simply nonsense. They can want to do it and they can try and do it but it is still just marketing talk. 

So there we have it. It's resolved. I say Sony can't guarantee support for 10 years for every console, you agree they can't guarantee it with every console as the PSP won't make it. 

That's the end of the discussion. You have already stated the PSP will fail to make it, so you can't try and twist that away. The proof is in the pudding. 

And now as the adult in this conversation I will do what you can't. I will simply walk away. You won't get anymore replies. I have proved my point, you have admitted to talking about things you have no idea about and resorting to opinion instead of fact, you have admitted they won't always do it as the PSP didn't and so forth.
