Spent more than 20K just in the arcades from the early 80's up to about 2007 (only visit arcades occasionally now)

On hardware & software? christ, can't put a number on it, but have spent more than 20K on gaming this generation alone.

Total must be 100K+ lifetime i would suspect.

No gaming? i would have had more nights out clubbing and paid off more of my mortgage, oh, and a bigger collection of DVD's.

Wow exactly how rich are you? Are you sitting on top of a gold mine? Or do you have a degree from Harvard?

As for me I think I'm somewhere in the 2000-5000 range. I'm a big gamer but don't try to let it get completely out of hand. If gaming didn't exist, I would have used the money in some other form of entertainment media or some new tech.

Defenitely. I'd have a house 5+ years ago versus just getting one last year and probably have it paid off in my early 50's vs 59 years of age.

But then again life wouldn't have been as fun. A majority of my money was spent on games. I never went out much and my going out to eat consisted of buying a pizza or hitting taco bell.

So I don't really regret it. Ok maybe just a little lol.

I started work part time at 13, and the weekend straight after i finished school i started work full time (was still 15, i'm approaching 35 now) and i have been working full time ever since.

I'm far from rich, worse still in the early 90's i had a bit of a gambling addiction (fruit machines like 7 heaven & Nudge double up deluxe ect)

I loved the arcades back in the day, if my money wasn't going in to Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Bomb Jack, Shinobi, Outrun, Double Dragon, Star Force, Golden Axe, Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat cabinets ect, it was going in to the pinball machines, the snooker/pool tables or the as mentioned before fruit machines.

It helped that my buddies back then for the most part all shared my love of the arcades.

Arcades have to count? no? i would have had a boring childhood without my beloved Ideal Leisure Centre & Diamond Horseshoe arcades

Indeed......... screw mortgage payments, gaming and happiness comes first.

probably around 5 grand maybe more but Ive sold every game ive bought and most hardware after im done with it for a profit so gaming has made me around 2-3k id guess.

20K+ easy.

If there were no video games? Fuck if I know... I'd probably be buying anti-depressants to combat how depressed I would think about the concept of video games yet it no exsisting.

My GC's dics drive broke and all it did was sit in my bedroom. And my two DSes both have broken hinges. Not cool Nintendo, not cool.
