All right.  You got me, but it's kind of hidden away, isn't it?

Let's put it this way - I never noticed it.

Let's say Nintendo isn't proud of it but still accepted the wii in his family

I guess if calling him a mistake is accepting...

Here we go. Just for Troll Whisperer...

Thanks

The number of titles is similar until 2011, it's the selling power of those that's different. From 2011 is when it starts to be really sad.

Another issue is that Nintendo released many games in the holiday season and let the WIi have long dry spells.

They probably released as many games for the Wii as for the GC if not more, it's just that without 3rd party support it's really noticeable when Nintendo doesn't release games. Then in 2011 they had the 3DS to support.

You can argue that they should focus their resources on certain franchises and expand their studios.

It is true that the number of games released is similar until 2011, but in 2009 the quality of the games really started to take a tumble in my opinion.

I was accepted, ok?

*runs away crying*

amp I completely agree with you. Nintendo killed the Wii through lack of momentum-inducing games.

It's because they BELIEVED that Wii Music, Skyward Sword, Other M and SMG2 would be the kind of games that draw in new Wii owners. They didn't.

If you ask Iwata he would blame the customers for not buying those rather than the games for not being attractive enough.

I agree that they should have put more effort in it back in 2010, releasing more high profile games - but we can't forget that they were working on the next member of the family then: Wii U. It's even named after its big brother - so Nintendo can't be THAT ashamed of it, right?

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

What does a U look like to you?  It looks like you are turning around and walking from something, right?  This is what a U turn is.

This means the Wii U is meant to be the anti-Wii.  Mark my words.

Well, duh =P They've said they're going after the core gamers - the opposite demographics as the Wii ended up with, so in that regard you're totally right; they're making a U-turn, but why keep the "Wii" at all in there, if they're so embarassed by it?

That'a good question.  I've been trying to make heads or tails of most of the things that Nintendo have done the last couple of years and have trouble understanding anything that they do.  This just adds to my confusion.
