The number of titles is similar until 2011, it's the selling power of those that's different. From 2011 is when it starts to be really sad. Another issue is that Nintendo released many games in the holiday season and let the WIi have long dry spells.
They probably released as many games for the Wii as for the GC if not more, it's just that without 3rd party support it's really noticeable when Nintendo doesn't release games. Then in 2011 they had the 3DS to support.
You can argue that they should focus their resources on certain franchises and expand their studios. |
It is true that the number of games released is similar until 2011, but in 2009 the quality of the games really started to take a tumble in my opinion.
