As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is getting a major update by the end of this month. Update 1.11 is entirely multiplayer-centric, so fans of the game still playing Uncharted 3’s many online modes will find a lot to like here.
First of all, The Lab has returned. The Lab originally premiered with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ multiplayer, and “is a play list featuring a unique series of multiplayer game types that [Naughty Dog] designers have concocted that focus on, above all, being fun.” As such, Naughty Dog is rolling out a map that only allows the use of the T-Bolt and Pistole weapons. More will follow in the future.
Also being added is a new mode called Elimination and a bunch of Custom Game “Advanced Settings,” allowing players to manipulate everything from respawn time to what kickbacks and boosters can and cannot be used.
More minor updates in the 1.11 patch concern small fixes and adjustments. Leaving a game, disconnecting or turning off the PS3 now counts as a loss on your record. Your permanent statistics will no longer be affected by the modes Plunder and Team Objective. The Airstrip and London maps now have “no intro” variations so you can get right into the action. And the Long Ranger Medal now requires 3 kills at 50 meters as opposed to 3 kills at 70 meters.
