First Nintendo loss in eons, that's what has "saved" the 3DS. Can Sony do it, with the financial problems it has?

Burning Skies actually looks pretty poor, the game trailers are all of a low quality game and the game developers past experience is very poor too :/

Hardware sales are poor all round, Vita absolutly awful, 3DS is doing quite well comparatively, NSMB 2 will do some huge numbers soon

Sony might not be able to do a price cut, by making a "stater edition" at the current price point though with a 4GB memory card and a game (Wipeout's a good one imo, people enjoy racers, its of good quality but not quite there in sales), would make Vita sales a fair bit healthier at least

@Kowenicki: at this point, the 3DS has won by a country mile, Sony needs to do something just to make it survive 

It's funny to see people going like "the VITA is just fine, just look at the 3DS" when a lot of people where saying "OMG the 3DS is thez doomz" when it was a a better position that VITA is rite now....

E3 is gonna be so important for Sony this year. It really needs to blow us away with the vita announcements. 3rd parties need to show strong support and sonys first party studios need to fire. It's a shame it's really not selling well because I own a vita and it's fantastic, people just don't realise that and still seem to think its just an updated psp. Sony just haven't marketed the thing correctly.

I don't think there's any way Sony will cut the price. Right now they have to focus on keeping the vita profitable rather than trying to compete with the 3ds and gain market share. All I think they'll do is bundle memory cards.

No it's not. I remember tons of Nintedo fans saying that the 3ds was doomed; some of them were joking and kept saying that it was doomed even after it was doing great. There is a guy who uses the word doomed in every other post of his.

And the rational of "the VITA is just fine, just look at the 3D" makes sense, since when the 3ds was doing bad there was nothing it could be compared to (expept maybe the ps3). Nintendo never sold a console at a loss even when gamecube was doing horrible. Most people did not expect them to cut the price by that much.

I don't think Sony is going to do a price cut soon. They are already losing a lot of money as it is and the stock is droppping. They should pay attention to making the Vita profitable, but I don't think it's going to reach 16 million, along with the PSP, this year. E3 better bring those games.

@pezus This time around it feels like they are trying to equalize the 3DS launch with the Vita's launch. But I don't think that works. 1) Sales and 2)Game quality

3DS launch =/= Vita launch

The thing is, I believe that- even as a Nintendo fan- that the library of Vita games available atm is better than what the 3DS had at the same moment in time. In a way, that makes the situation worse though, I guess

PSP is SO dead in America. Sony should discontinue it before the holidays and clear some shelf space for the Vita.
