Forums - Microsoft - So Minecraft breaks Records on XBLA.

Insane sales considering the price tag. Good for them!

It's just that simple.

What is this game even about? It looks like a Lego game gone crazy.

BLING BLING BLING! Biggest release of the month.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

to be honest the enemies piss me off, because I thought they would leave when it's daytime but they don't...

Furthermore I ran into some bugs where I was in my home (note door was closed) and went up the steps from my cellar and suddenly a creeper exploded outside the building and broke a huge hole in my wall, but he doesn't explode when I can see him through my 10cm thick wooden door...
Then another time I mined even more stone in my cellar. I went upstairs again and this time a creeper was walking insinde my home (again the door was closed the whole time).

So I decided to play without enemies for now until I have a real fortress.

It's still addicting, but IMO the crafting part is a bit limited. I don't know if they increased the number of things in the PC version, but once you have iron you did basically everything...
Hope someone's proving me wrong though.

Barozi, creepers spawn regardless of day or night. They can spawn during daytime and ambush you, the whole point of peeps hating on those fuckers. Spiders also stick around during daytime but are passive, they won't attack you unless you go out of your way to hit them.

A few weeks back on PC a creeper spawned in a 2x2 room in my house, went down the stairs and blew up in my face, it's not a bug, just an unfortunate game mechanic.

Agreed the crafting is limited, but it's more or less exactly what you could do on the PC version, there is practically no variation between the games, except of course the new additions of an ending, endermen, and hunger system. It's a 1.6.6 of PC version, I haven't played PC in a while, but I don't think any new materials etc have been added that increase the crafting options.

Creepers spawn where there's no light, so if you don't want creepers in your home you better put up some torches.

I think they spawn even in daylight/torches, or daylight at least.

They do? Never did for me on the PC version. If they go out into the daylight they will burn and die. I haven't been following the latest updates though

Dude that never happened :p, only skeletons and zombies burn in the sun. Creepers can spawn even during light, I think it's pretty rare during torch light though, mainly sun.

Well I misremembered that part then, but the part about them spawning only in dark places is true according to the official wiki:

"Underground or on the surface, creepers will spawn at night and in dimly lit locations with a light level of 7 or less."

Ah fair enough, then he has a poorly lit house. But yeah, spiders and creepers are immune to sunshine.

It wouldve been better if you gave us the article too with the link:

Earlier today, creator Markus 'Notch' Persson revealed via his Twitter feed that the console version of his game was profitable within an hour of going on sale.

However, his Tweet then set off a little consternation at Fez developer Polytron, who suggested Notch might have been singled out for preferential treatment by Microsoft.

"How did you get those stats from MS?" asked Phil Fish's crew. "We still don't know exactly how much Fez sold almost a month later. You get stats in 24 hours?

Notch replied: "What? Really? I thought it was standard procedure! That sucks. :("

The Fez studio then stated that "standard procure [sic] is: you find out how much you sold when you get your first check 3-4 months later."

"You're also getting free updates," they added, "which is something every other developer on the platform is told is simply not an option."

Notch responded by explaining that "we had to fight for that, and we got a limited number of them. Not sure why they don't like it."
