I get them all.

Same here.

The VGC of today is only a shell of its former self. There really is no comparison. The community was much smaller, closer, more creative, and more lively back in the day. Almost everyone knew each other... Most of the great posters from the past have all but left. I remember when Benkenobi and Stof were the two main mods, the soriku vs leo-j posting battles, when the site didn't have a ridiculous design, and when ioi actually cared about his members as opposed to just running a business. However, you do what you must to get bigger and make more money. (VGC Pro and such...)

Nintendo still doomed?

Seeing the pictures of how VGChartz used to look brought some nostalgia to me :)

I've never been that popular of a member or that big of a poster, but I used to come on here pretty regularly.

A couple things I miss:

Smeags comics.

All the members that used to post, but no longer do (go figure).

Playing Killzone 2 with VGChartz members.

The biggest difference is that back then there were many members with very strong personalities. Nowadays more and more people are posting in similar styles and it makes the forums suffer overall.

Ok then, we need a plan to restore VGC to its former glory.

We must attract news member and encourage friends to join the site, and everyone needs to be a lot more dramatic.

WE NEED MORE DRAMAAAA!!'

So, whats the plan then?

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I saw the "Was the Wii a fad" thread and if felt just like old times. Then, I tried to post and the site froze up on me......just like old times.

My first memories of this site are Leo-j and Soriku constantly fighting over whether Kingdom Hearts 3 was going to PS3 or Wii.

Man this thread is bring me back. I haven't been the most active user but I've pretty much visited this site almost everyday for 5.5 years (been a member for 4.5).

Wow I never realized how long VGC has been in my life. Over half a decade.

EDIT: Also I'm pretty sure I saw Johnlucas around here like...a month ago.

hehe shit man, that's quite a while =)

It was awesome. We had fanboys who were batshit crazy and constantly made batshit crazy predictions (think Gilgamesh on steroids), we had ioi getting drunk and banning people who disagreed with him about F1 and we actually had interesting threads about games.

These days I only stick around to debate the libertarians.

But why don't we have any more wild and crazy predictions?! Don't you think they'll come around e3?

Would you care to expand that? How do we get the standard up? =)
