lol, its not $40. Its more closer to $80 (hit up Walmart or Amazon) and once 360 drops in price later this year it will be over $100. Yet, your stuck in a 2yr contract.

Only a good deal for those that can't spend more than $200 or so upfront...and lets be honest if you can't do that then you have no business buying a video games console.
I'm sure people will eat it up though.

yeah you are right but don't compare it with the price in some month lol? if you do that, you would have to do the same with the price on amazon or walmart, which is too high because in some month, the price will be lower...this would mean you could never buy something because it will always be cheaper after a while.

True, I'm only mentioning future price as its obvious to be dropping soon and to me, I'll always wait a couple months if I know its happening. Even right now its still closer to $80 or over $100 if you get the walmart bundle plus kinect bundle giving you four games.
There are 17 Microsoft stores currently open, with four more "coming soon."
Six of the locations are in California.
They all appear to be in "high end" locations.
And given the small spread, this is using a different model to entice new customers who could afford to buy it but may not be apt to spend that kind of money for something they would not use -- not the "rent-to-own" plan (which is borderline usury).

I repeat... its an option... nobody is forcing anyone. if its bad people will ignore it? if people use it it is becasue thats the only way they can do this.... How the fuck do you think mortgages, loans, credit cards and mobile phone contracts came about? Demand! |
Stating the obvious doesn't make it a good deal. Its still bad deal.

For those who don't believe this, 18% interest on $299 for a year is $53.
In other words, if you use plastic and not paying it off quickly (or immediately), you probably are already paying more than this.
